A Chelsea bun is made of a rich yeast dough flavoured with lemon peel, cinnamon or mixed spice according to Wikipedia. As a foodie I had to try it even though I am not keen on lemon peel.
Basically it was just a sweet bun laced with lemon peel so a nice treat with tea if that's your thing.
A fairly tastless and insipid attempt at a classic recipe. The product has the texture of madiera cake and the appearance of a cheap danish pastry. For a few pence more the Waitrose version looks more authentic.
