Lyons cakes sponge puddings - Cherry bakewell review

I was at One Below for some stuff and spotted these sponge puddings by Lyons Cake since 1884.
There was cherry Bakewell, sticky toffee and golden syrup which were all tempting.
It is frustrating no one has reviewed these puddings hence I decided to try the Cherry Bakewell.
The puddings only require 30 seconds in the microwave and best served with custard.
I didn't have any custard in the cupboard so tried the cherry Bakewell on its own.
Although it was a bit sweet, it was actually really nice.
The sponge was rather moist but there was a strong aromatic cherry flavour complimented by the cherry sauce which dripped down the pudding nicely.
Will definitely buy the sticky toffee and syrup soon.
The best thing is that these have a good long shelf life so you can stock them up.

If you google J. Lyon, there is so much history on this company which is worth reading.
