Last summer I saw some pretty British summer lettuce at Marks and Spencers so I decided to get it. The lettuce is similar to butter lettuce but softer and it has a dark purple leaf tip.
I used it for a burrata cheese salad which looked really nice.
Overall, the lettuce tasted like butter lettuce without the creaminess followed by a grassy kick.
