It was almost like seeing a portion of sliced steak in there!
I was worried the mock beef would get dehydrated after 4mins in the microwave because you could see the sauce was at the bottom layered by noodles and veg on top with the mock beef on the side.

Luckily the beef did not get dehydrated but mixing everything thoroughly before microwaving it would taste better.
The mock beef definitely had that Chinese take away soft beef texture where the beef has been heavily tenderized in cornstarch.
I also tasted some Chinese black fungus which I thought was odd but it turned out to be really black fungus in the ingredients.
I found it odd because it is not a common Chinese takeaway ingredient but more of local Chinese ingredient for stews and soup so it is interesting how the M&S food development got their hands on that.
Overall delicious but a bit too sweet but then Chinese dishes are sweet.
The mock beef is the same as the ones you get in the New York style no beef roll but the texture is softer in the noodles because it is heated while the New York style, it is eaten chilled so the texture is firmer.
