[Review] Rustlers BBQ Rib Burger

Out of the basic range at Rustlers, I was drawn most to the BBQ Rib burger because I like BBQ sauce and not often do you get rib burgers in other ready to eat burger brands.
I don't know if anyone else remembers but McDonalds had the McRib burger a while back which was really good.
Basically, it is similar to the sausage patty but in rib shaped patty smothered in BBQ sauce.

Rustlers has two sizes, the bbq rib burger and the bbq rib.
Essentially they are the same but the bun and patty is longer for the bbq rib and so are various products in the Rustlers range.
It makes me wonder if the sauce sachets are bigger in the BBQ Rib version because the patty is longer.

As I just wanted to try the rib patty I got the BBQ rib burger because it is just the same as the rib burger but smaller.
To my surprise, the taste was just like McDonalds McRib, the rib patty was juicy and the smokey BBQ sauce complimented it nicely.

[Review] Rustlers Flame Grilled Cheese Burger

I am not really keen on beef but decided to try the Rustlers Flame Grilled Cheese Burger so that I have tried a bit of everything in their basic range.
The beef patty was impressive after it came out the microwave as it looked like it was flame grilled.
Everything from sauce and bun were good but the only let down was the beef patty as it had these chewy gristle sinew bits that I don't like which is the main reason I am not keen on eating burgers, minced beef or sausages.

[Review] Rustlers Classic Hot Dog

Since I have reviewed a few of the Rustlers products, I decided to try their hot dog as well which is probably the last in the basic range to try.
Rustlers do have some special burgers but I am not near any superstore to get it.

The instructions for the hot dog was 1 minute 40 seconds in a 800W microwave.
To be honest, 1 minute 40 seconds for the hot dog is probably right but it would be too long for the bun which would go chewy.
Fearing a chewy bun, I microwaved it for 1 minute 20 seconds and the bun was still chewy as expected so microwaving them separately would probably be better but I doubt I would buy it again.
The taste of the dog itself with ketchup and mustard included was not bad.

Ironically, I was Co-Op and the Rustlers double hotdog pack was reduced to 64p so ended up getting them.
This time I microwaved the hot dog for about 40 seconds and it turned out good.

[Restaurant Review] Sam's Chicken and Katsu curry sauce

A while ago I was captivated by Sam's drumsticks bucket which seemed a good deal but as I have never tried Sam's I wasn't sure if their chicken was good.

Finally went to Sam's for their #friedchicken but I think I went the wrong time as the chicken was a bit cold and dry.

I am glad I only got one piece on my first visit and didn't get the bucket.
Although I wasn't impressed with the chicken I still want to try the katsu curry rice.
@samschickenuk
A few months later, I tried the katsu sauce because I was having fish and chips.
The taste of the sauce was rather acidic but I think it is because of the fruity elements that make up the katsu sauce.

A few months later I was back because for wings as I have not tried them before from this branch as I usually get them from a different shop.
Ended up getting the spicy wings and bbq wings.
The spicy wings were how they but the BBQ wings totally blew me away, the wings were crispy in this sweet but not cloyingly sweet sauce so it was just delicious like eating buffalo wings.
Next time will definitely get a proper picture of the bbq wings to do them justice.

Normally with bbq wings, they just used grilled wings and toss them in bbq sauce but the fact that sam's uses fried wings makes it even more delectable!
The BBQ wings were so good that I went back just for them and also tried the spicy rice.
It was heaven having the bbq wings and spicy rice together because the rice was basmati rice which was soft and fluffy although some of the rice was a bit dry but it was acceptable.

[Review] Farley's Rusks

I don't know why but I always have a craving for baby foods.
There is something special about Farley's Rusks that are comforting and I don't know what it is.
Farley's Rusks started in the 1880s, but the company were taken over by Heinz in 1994.
Since I had a craving for them, I decided to get them.
I was really excited that I ate them right a way when I got home.
It was comforting that the smell was still the same as well as the taste.
The taste is hard to describe but the biscuit is sweet with a strong taste of flour.
I thought the taste was rather sweet as an adult so I am keen on trying the reduced sugar version which is difficult to get hold of.
When you add milk to it, the sweetness is just right.
Anyway, after posting it on social media it was comforting to see other people having the same affections to Farley's Rusks.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Toffee Meringues

I am not a fan of meringues but toffee meringues were a bit different so got them from M&S.
They were actually quite nice with a layer of dark chocolate in the middle with thick toffee flavoured cream.
The texture of the meringues were light and crumbly with a soft centre in the middle of the meringue.
Overall a lovely sweet treat with a cup of tea.

[Review] McVities Sticky Toffee flavour cake

Spotted the McVities Sticky Toffee flavour cake at Icelands which I don't often see at supermarkets so decided to get it.
The sticky toffee cake felt really light when I took it from the shelf and the wrapper didn't really stick to the cake so I somehow knew it was going to be dry before getting it.
I was right. The texture was pretty dry and crumbly but the taste was ok but definitely needs custard as suggested on the wrapper.
There is an artificial toffee aroma to the cake which is pretty strong.
I didn't think I would be buying it again but after microwaving it for a 10 seconds it was a complete different story but I find it odd that there were no suggestions to heat it up whatsoever or is it common sense as custard was suggested so why does it not suggest heating it up like their other brands.
