2.PM Korean rice cakes in soup

Got these delicious spicy rice cakes Thanks to 7-11 which cost $12.9 per bowl.

The shape of these rice cakes were like flat discs and the ones I tried earlier were like thick mini rods.

The broth tasted nice but the rice cakes were too chewy, maybe I should leave them for at least 10 minutes next time.

The broth was nice and colourful, it had pieces of dehydrated eggs and seaweed.

Innovative cleaning with a drill

I was quite amused to see someone use a Drill with a brush attached on the end to clean an egg puff maker!

2.PM Korean spicy rice cakes

Got these delicious spicy rice cakes Thanks to 7-11 which cost $12.9 per bowl.

Inside there is a vacuum sealed bag of Korean rice cakes which look like mini rice rolls.

The rice cakes are easy to prepare, you just open the sealed bag and put them in the bowl in came in and add hot water.
Then you can let it stand for 8 minutes or put it in the microwave for 2 minutes.
After that, pour away the hot water and add the sachet of sauce and it is ready to eat.

The rice cakes were quite nice, they were firm and al-dente and not as spicy as I expected with some sweetness in the sauce.

Home-made black garlic

Black garlic is a type of fermented garlic used as a food ingredient. It is made by fermenting whole bulbs of garlic at high temperature, a process that results in black cloves. The taste is sweet and syrupy with hints of balsamic vinegar.
It is sourced by chefs as ingredients for high-end cuisines and in Korea and Asia, it is perceived as a health food that is high in antioxidants.

Since the process of making black garlic sounds sophisticated, I was really surprised when my friend gave me some home made black garlic!
I was stunned that it could be home made.

Anyway, I really liked her black garlic because her mum used Solo garlic (single clove garlic) which is extremely easy to peel and eat.
The taste was the same as the ones I had brought before too and it had some tones of sweetness in it too.

Marks and Spencers cheese filler

Went to my favourite grocery store to get some filler for my sandwich.

I was deciding between prawn and mayonnaise or the cheese, but in the end I picked cheese.

Taw valley mature cheddar, red leicester cheese and onion deli filler:

I used the filler on some ordinary brown bread and it tasted delicious.
Even though there were two cheeses in it, the taste was lovely and subtle balanced by the onions in it.
The mayonnaise in the filler held it all together making it nice and creamy and the cheese pieces were nice and soft..

DAYPLUS Green Tea natural yeast bread

Marbled bread with green tea from 7-11.
The bread was nicely flavoured and not too sweet but not springy enough.

Inside the packet there is some sort of interesting dessicant called "Fresh Dot" technology which involves ethanol.

Izumiya Castella (sponge cake)

Thanks to Hong Kong's 7-11 for these Izumiya Castella (sponge cakes) $11.9.

Castella cakes are made of starch syrup, sugar, eggs and flour.

There were two flavours Matcha or Honey, both were nice and soft with a slightly sticky and chewy texture.
I preferred the honey flavour because it was much lighter.

As for the Matcha, the matcha flavour was not strong enough.
