The Chinese range at Marks and Spencers is just amazing, you will find everything ranging from black bean beef, spare ribs, sweet and sour to Singapore Noodles.
Previously tried the Aromatic Duck which was fantastic so this time I am trying the Singapore Noodles as well as the Lemon Chicken.
The Singapore noodles are fine rice noodles with chargrilled chicken , pork , prawns in a spicy coconut & tamarind sauce.
If you remove the sleeve and take a peak, you can see that there is so much meat as well as noodles.
As for the taste I felt that it was a bit different to the ones you get at the takeaways mainly because of the coconut and tamarind sauce which makes it slightly refreshing with a Thai twist.

Singaporean crisps by F.EAST
F.EAST Flavours of The East are a brand of crisps from Singapore that brings you flavours from the East like Hainan Chicken which is a national dish of Singapore.
There are three flavours in the range:
Hainan Chicken, Singapore Laksa and Egg Prata with Fish curry.
As a crisps and cup noodles addict I had to try them all so I was really lucky to get the set.
Here were my thoughts on all the flavours which can be found at 711 and supermarkets that stock them.
**************************
Hainan Chicken:
They tasted like a mix of chicken and spring onion flavoured crisps with a touch of ginger.
Overall quite nice because it is a flavour that I can relate to.
**************************
Singapore Laksa:
There was a strong coconut smell when this bag of Singapore laksa crisps was opened.
In terms of taste, it was very coconutty and sweet with a slightly spicy aftertaste.
**************************
Egg Prata with Fish curry:
The egg prata with Fish curry was super spicy just like those crisps you get from Indian shops.
It tasted similar to Lay's India's Magic Masala which I previously posted.

DAYPLUS Green Tea natural yeast bread
Marbled bread with green tea from 7-11.
The bread was nicely flavoured and not too sweet but not springy enough.

KOKA Purple Wheat Noodles - Chili and Lime
Was attracted by the really nice packaging and the fact the noodles are purple!
The colour they used for the fonts and packaging is really good.
Perhap too good for a cheap packet of instant noodles, but saying that in UK, even the economy brands have respectable packaging and design, its just that the design of Hong Kong and China products look tacky and fake.
Anyway, there are three different flavours: soy and vinegar, chili and lime, and aglio olio.
The one I tried was chilli and lime.
When I opened the package the noodles were purple as expected and you can see the noodles are embedded with wheat in them, the condiments are well packaged too.
I was expecting liquid sauce but it was powder, but I suppose powder is better because oil goes bad in hot conditions especially for hot Asian countries.
In the powder there was pieces of chilli in it.
You are meant to mix with xx amount of cold water which I have forgotten but I used warm water to dissolve all the powder.
I also added the other sachet which is labelled canola oil but it actually smells like sesame oil.
Anyway I put the noodles in hot water to cook, and interestingly when the water started frothing you could see pieces of purple wheat floating about.
The water was also turned colour so there is probably alot of colouring involved in this to make it purple!
So heres what the noodles look like cooked!
After mixing the noodles with the sauce, heres what they look like.
Compared to the soy and vinegar flavour I preferred the soy and vinegar flavour because this flavour was quite sweet and I could not taste the sourness of the lime.
The chili was not that spicy which was good.

PRIMA FOOD Laksa La Mian
Bought this huge instant noodle pack which is laksa flavoured, the noodles inside were different to the usual instant noodles, they were thicker and much rounder.
There were two sachets, one laksa paste and the other was coconut powder.
I did not add all the coconut powder to the soup base because I do not like coconut, but when I opened the Laksa paste it was really prawny and fishy which was really nice.
It takes a while to cook too!!
Overall I loved these noodles, but the soup was too spicy for me and there was slightly too much MSG.

McDonalds: Singapore
McDonalds in Singapore
I was quite surprised they offer Jasmine tea as one of their beverages, and since Singapore is quite multicultural chicken is quite a popular item there.
Even for breakfast they have crispy chicken with eggs!
I have tried cinammon melts before which are delicious and here they have blueberry melts as well!

KOKA Instant noodles Laksa Singapura flavour
This brand does not taste as good as Gozen Men, but the sachets of seasoning are nicely separated especially the chilli oil and surprisingly there is a bag of milk powder which I have never seen before.
However there is a strong CFC odour from the bowl.
I think the packet version will taste better which I hope to try soon.

Singapore flower shaped coconut biscuits
Was given this by someone, they said it was a coconut biscuit from Singapore.
It was shaped like a flower.
The texture of it was interesting, it was not the usual cookie/biscuit texture.
It was very fine and velvety.
