[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Percy Pig Celebration Cake

To be honest, Percy Pig is a really popular mascot at M&S but I have still not tried the Percy Pig sweets yet as I gave them to my niece.
Marks and Spencers Percy Pig Celebration Cake was really pretty so why not kill two birds with one stone to try the sweet and the cake!
When I took the cake home, I was surprised that everyone liked the look of this cake.
For me I liked the colourful sprinkles and the fact that it was vanilla sponge in the middle.
The cake serves 8 so each slice is just about right with the sugar overload.
I love the vanilla sponge which had a nice firm but moist texture complimented by the jam and butter cream.
Overall recommended because it was fun to eat and looks great on photos!

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Chocolate Party Bake

I love chocolate cake so got the Marks and Spencers Chocolate Party Bake which is a big tray of chocolate cake to satisfy my chocolate cake craving.
It was good how the cakes were pre-sliced to make it easier when sharing.
The cake was really indulgent that you end up eating more than one slice because it is moist and moreish!

[Review] Tesco Finest Chocolate Cake

Tried the Tesco Finest Chocolate Cake which was Chocolate sponge cake filled and topped with Belgian milk chocolate ganache buttercream and decorated with Belgian white and dark chocolate curls.
The rich chocolate sponge had a smooth milk chocolate ganache buttercream filling.
Overall, it was a rich moist chocolate cake that goes well with tea.

[Review] Mary Berry Raspberry Ripple Cake

I have always wanted to try Mary Berry's cake so I finally got one at the bigger supermarkets that stock them.

The one I got was the Raspberry Ripple Cake.

After trying the cake, I actually wanted another piece of cake when I finished.

The texture of the vanilla sponge was how I liked it in the sense that it was firm but not too dense.

The cake had a great texture and taste filled with quality raspberry jam and extra raspberry ripple on top.

This is definitely a cake I'll remember because the vanilla sponge itself is good as well as the filling whereas some cakes rely on the filling but the cake itself is such a let down.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Red Velvet Cake

I love red velvet cakes so decided to try Marks and Spencers Red Velvet Cake which is smothered in frosting.
A while ago I tried Tesco finest Red Velvet which did not impress so I didn't have any expectations for this one.
To my surprise, I knew it was good from the moment I put my knife in it because the texture of the cake had the right softness.
The cake was just so moreish that I demolished half in one go because it was moist and springy without being too firm with a hint of cocoa in the taste.

[Review] Co-op Iced Madeira Cake

I was pretty disappointed with the Co-op Iced Madeira Cake because it was just oily, buttery and overly sweet.

[Review] M & S Food Bramley Apple Victoria Sponge

To be honest, I was going to M & S Food intending to get a Victoria sponge but in front of me there were two to choose from.
The regular Victoria Sponge and the Bramley Apple Victoria sponge.

Instantly, I knew the Bramley apple version one was going to be damn good because I expected the filling to be the same as the filling for their Fresh cream Bramley apple turnovers which are sensationally good.

For me, I prefer eating cakes and sponges as to puff pastry so the Bramley apple Victoria sponge was the perfect combo.

As expected the Bramley Apple Victoria sponge was delicious especially the freshly whipped cream and apple compote which was chunks of crisp sweetened apples.

It is hard to see the apple compote but it definitely is in there as well as the lovely layer of freshly whipped cream which tasted very buttery yet light as well as the fluffy buttery sponge that was not too overwhelmingly buttery.
