[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Bramley Apple & Blackberry Pie

It is the end of summer so I thought I would treat myself to the Marks and Spencers Bramley Apple & Blackberry Pie which I consider as a summery pie with blackberries.

The pie looks captivating in the box because you can see chunky apple slices and whole blackberries which you always expect from Marks and Sparks because they never skimp on anything.

The pie cut nicely and it was delicious warmed up with cream.

The apple slices had a nice crunch but the blackberries had some pips in it but it was expected.

Pairing it with ice cream is probably the best because the pie is rather tart as a whole because of the apples and blackberries.

[Review] Birds Eye Crispy Chicken

I love fried chicken and chicken nuggets so I was captivated by the Birds Eye crispy chicken.

It would seem a wise choice to get this over chicken nuggets because it is made with 100% chicken breast according to the box.

Inside the box, you get 2 crispy chickens as stated just like the picture.

After putting it in the oven, the end product was satisfactory and tasty but I found it a bit too crunchy as I left it in the oven for too long but the chicken inside was still moist and tender.

[Review] Bradley's Jellied Eel Pots 200g

"Jellied eels are a traditional English dish that originated in the 18th century, primarily in the East End of London.

The dish consists of chopped eels boiled in a spiced stock that is allowed to cool and set, forming a jelly. It is eaten cold." Quoted from wikipedia.

They were popular in at the end of the second world war as a cheap staple for poor people, sadly there are few pie mash houses due to gentrification and the way peoples tastes have changed.

I don't know why I love jellied eels but I do especially the jelly.

The savoury jelly is just delicious with chilli vinegar.

My favourite pie mash places are in Croydon and Hoxton but a while ago due to lockdown I had to get the jellied eel pots to satisfy my cravings.

The pots tasted just as well especially my favourite jelly.

[Review] Morrisons Pineapple Glazed Gammon Steaks

Tried Morrisons Pineapple Glazed Gammon Steaks which was quite nice.

The gammon steak came with a sachet of pineapple sauce which was rather sweet and a pineapple ring.

As for the gammon, I found it chewy and tough but otherwise the taste with good with a good deal of saltiness to it.

[Review] Morrisons The Best 6 British Traditionally cured Bacon Medallions

I love bacon but bacon Medallions are even better because they made from cured pork loin which is lean.
The medallions are trimmed nicely so there is no fat on them.
Will definitely be buying them again.

[Review] Rolo Dessert Pots

These days many confectioneries are turned into desserts or ice creams which makes the experience even more indulgent.

This year Barratt sweets have come up with flumps ice cream lolly as well as dib dab ice lollies.

Rolo Dessert pots have been around for many years and still taste ridiculously good.

If you have tried the chocolate version, it is basically chewy toffee in chocolate.

The dessert version is similar with toffee creme at the bottom and chocolate on top and the taste is so decadent and satisfying as a dessert.

As well as rolo, there are many other confectionery desserts that have been around for decades which I will review later.

[Review] Sainsbury's Vanilla Custard Doughnuts

So far I have been impressed with Sainsburys donuts so this time I got the Sainsbury Vanilla custard donut to see how it fares compared to Tescos and M&S.

Without comparing Tescos and M&S, the vanilla custard was nice but some how the donut itself was not as good as Sainsburys Jam donut but theoretically they should be the same but with different fillings so perhaps I got a bad batch.

Overall compared to the others, the custard filling for M&S and Sainsburys were equally as good but M&S is slightly more flavourful and richer.

As for donut again M&S and Sainsburys are in close ties and Tescos comes last.
