Bistrotea - Tea in a sugar stick sachet

Tried these teas because the packaging was attractive, the tea leaves were contained in a aluminium pouch shaped like a sugar sachet with holes for the tea to infuse.

There were lots of flavours but I tried Strawberry and Jasmine, Jasmine lotus and Vanilla peach.

The Jasmine was really fragrant and the colour of the tea was vivid.

10 grams of Jasmine tea leaves by Yijiangnan.

The Jasmine taste was not that strong and the leaves were not intact.

Yes, it is spelt Batwan not Batman!

Anyway I mistook this for a Vietnamese Star apple but realised it was not when the fruit felt really hard.

Apparently it is meant to be that hard because I thought it wasnt ripe.

Inside the fruit there are some seeds in the centre which are covered in white sticky slime.

The hard orange flesh is similar to the texture of unripe hami melon however the taste is extremely sour and used as a cooking ingredient.

KAGOME Grape mixed juice

Intially I was attracted to this drink because it had lots of vegetables on the illustration and I thought it was purple vegetable juice.
After I bought it, I realised the main ingredient was Kyoho grape.

I have never liked artificial kyoho grape flavouring because it smells and tastes like plastic, and this drinks tastes just like that with some savoury tomato taste.

Now that I know they have just vegetable juices, I will try that next time.

Tom Yum Crisp Original

Most of the elements in this was nice but because the Kaffir lime leaves were strong I did not like the overall taste, but inside there was dried shrimps, cashew nuts, kaffir lime leaves, fish sauce, lemon juice, onion, sugar, dried squid, red pepper.

The spicyness levels was light however I could not find the pieces of squid.

Chou Chin Bomy Asparagus Juice

Thought this drink was interesting so tried it.

It tasted different from what I expected because natrual asparagus is woody and creamy, but the contents of this drink was clear liquid.

Anyway, there was a faint taste of asparagus but there was some lemon taste as well which was a weird ingredient to put in, but probably to extend its shelf life.

They have other drinks in the range but their website that was working the other day is not working now!!
