[Review] Morrisons Mini Lemon doughnuts

As soon as I found out about the Fruit salad doughnuts I just couldn't wait to get them so when someone said they were going to Morrisons I asked them to get me some.
Sadly, Morrisons didn't have it so they got some Mini Lemon doughnuts because they were reduced.
To be honest, I am not a fan of mini doughnuts because they are cakey and lemon makes it worse.
Had they been cinnamon I probably would have liked them more.
There is nothing wrong with these donuts but personally I don't like cakey donuts because I'd rather eat a proper yeasty donut or a proper cake.
The taste was not bad as the lemon was palatable while the sprinkle balls gave it a sugary touch.
I also paired it with M&S pink gin cream which made it nicer.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers 2 Cream Doughnuts

Again, another basic sweet treat from Marks and Spencers.
These doughnuts are simply comforting any time with fluffy whipped cream in the middle complemented by the strawberry jam which is surprisingly flavourful even though you don't see much on the doughnut.

[Review] Morrisons Cream Toffee Doughnuts

These Cream Toffee Doughnuts were something I specifically went to Morrisons for because you don't often see this around.
The usual cream donuts are jam and custard so the toffee was a must try for me.

Morrisons Cream Toffee Doughnuts more than impressed me because the filling was toffee flavoured cream which was the best thing.
Anything else like toffee sauce would have killed it by being too sweet.
Each bite was simply divine because you had the soft donut complemented by the toffee flavoured cream which was fluffy and light just the thing for tea!

[Review] Tesco Strawberry Jam Donuts / Doughnuts

I felt like having something sweet so got the Tesco Strawberry Jam Donuts which have fresh cream in them.
There is also a custard version which I have been meaning to try but not all Tescos have them as strawberry is more popular.
The plastic tray that holds the donut is specially designed so that the cream does not touch the box.
Well done Tesco!
Anyway, the donut was light and fluffy as stated and the cream and jam were flawless so it definitely satisfied my sweet cravings.

[Review] Dark Chocolate Mint Heart Krispy Kreme Donut

For Valentine's Krispy Kreme have launched three heart shaped donuts:

1)Dark Chocolate Mint Heart
2)Nutella filled Nutty Chocolatta
3)White Chocolate Berry Heart

If it wasn't for these new flavours, I doubt I would go to Krispy Kreme again.
The dark chocolate appealed to me so I got the dark chocolate mint heart.
The icing wasn't bad but the crispy bits on top were rancid so it really ruined it.

[Review] Morrisons Donuts

Morrisons donuts caught my attention during Halloween when they had these donuts with green filling.
Visited Morrisons in late November and finally saw the pineapple and raspberry donuts which had green fillings.
It is interesting how mixing pineapple and raspberry jam can come out green.
There was also Winterberry Donuts which is blackberry and raspberry filling according to someone in Instagram.

Anyway, ended up getting the strawberry donuts as they come in a pack of 5 as no one fancied sharing the pineapple.

I was a bit disappointed with the strawberry donut overall because the strawberry filling smelled and tasted artificial while the donut had a slight bitter aftertaste.

[Review] Tesco vs M&S Custard Donut / doughnut

Tried custard donuts from Tesco and Marks and Spencers.
Overall, I liked Marks and Spencers because the custard was not cloyingly sweet with specks of vanilla seeds in it and the taste was creamy.
As for Tesco, the custard let it down as it was too sweet but the custard was visually nicer as it was darker in colour.

[7-eleven] Daily Cafe - donut latte

Discovered this donut latte at the convenience store so decided it try it even thought it is evidently latte with a squirt of Monins doughnut flavoured syrup.

I wouldn't describe the donut taste as strong but it was a nice latte that was not too sweet with a cakey sweet aroma to it.

Korean and Japanese delights from 7-eleven Hong Kong

Thanks to 7-eleven for sending me these goodies featuring popular Korean pot noodles and Japanese sweet treats.

For Korean goodies we have: Vilac Cup Rice and Noodle, Ottogi Japchae noodles, Hanil Jajeng Myeon
Japanese goodies there are: Ribon Okinawan donuts, Shoeido Swiss rolls and Koubo croissant buns

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Korean Hanil Jajeng Myeon HKD$17.9:
These were quick and convenient to eat, simply empty the noodles in the box and pour the sauce on top and heat in the microwave as advised.
The noodles were soft and chewy in delicious sweet sauce.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Korean Ottogi Japchae – HOT
Springy glass noodles in sweet and spicy sauce with pieces of beef in it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Korean Vilac Cup Rice and Noodle – Spicy Seafood $12.9
This is the most interesting cup I have tried, because there was Rice and noodles!!!
It would be great if there was a non spicy version to cater for people who can't eat spicy foods!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Japanese Koubo croissant buns $12.5
There is a choice of chocolate or strawberry and they were best eaten slightly warmed by heating in a microwave because the paste inside becomes soft.
Personally I liked the chocolate.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Japanese Shoeido Swiss rolls $13.9
These rolls were surprisingly big and filling!
There is caramel and chocolate and both were soft and moist.
It is hard to say which flavour is better because both were good.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Japanese Okinawan RIBON donuts $10.9
There are two flavours: original and black sugar.
Black sugar had more depth in flavour so I preferred the black sugar.
