Korean and Japanese delights from 7-eleven Hong Kong

Thanks to 7-eleven for sending me these goodies featuring popular Korean pot noodles and Japanese sweet treats.

For Korean goodies we have: Vilac Cup Rice and Noodle, Ottogi Japchae noodles, Hanil Jajeng Myeon
Japanese goodies there are: Ribon Okinawan donuts, Shoeido Swiss rolls and Koubo croissant buns

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Korean Hanil Jajeng Myeon HKD$17.9:
These were quick and convenient to eat, simply empty the noodles in the box and pour the sauce on top and heat in the microwave as advised.
The noodles were soft and chewy in delicious sweet sauce.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Korean Ottogi Japchae – HOT
Springy glass noodles in sweet and spicy sauce with pieces of beef in it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Korean Vilac Cup Rice and Noodle – Spicy Seafood $12.9
This is the most interesting cup I have tried, because there was Rice and noodles!!!
It would be great if there was a non spicy version to cater for people who can't eat spicy foods!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Japanese Koubo croissant buns $12.5
There is a choice of chocolate or strawberry and they were best eaten slightly warmed by heating in a microwave because the paste inside becomes soft.
Personally I liked the chocolate.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Japanese Shoeido Swiss rolls $13.9
These rolls were surprisingly big and filling!
There is caramel and chocolate and both were soft and moist.
It is hard to say which flavour is better because both were good.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Japanese Okinawan RIBON donuts $10.9
There are two flavours: original and black sugar.
Black sugar had more depth in flavour so I preferred the black sugar.

Shamyang pot noodles

Saw these Shamyang pot noodles, so bought both flavours to try.
The flavours were curry and shoyu.
Before I looked at the label, I assumed they were Japanese, however they turned out to be from Korea.
When you open the pot, the soup base is in a separate packet, but the dehydrated condiments are with the noodles.
I did not like the texture of these noodles or the soup, the noodles were too soft and foamy.

Paldo Chlorella cup noodle - Savory seafood flavour

Nice and colourful, however it tasted very fishy and the noodles were foamy.

KFC in KOREA

Was amazed at the variety and choice of food at Korea's Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).
There is more on their website, but I have only posted the ones I wanted to try most and the ones
I felt were unique.

Barbecue rib flavoured seaweed

Got this from a friend who came back from Korea.
The flavour was interesting because it was unusual, it was barbecue ribs.
In the packet were about five sheets, the seaweed had some brownish seasoning on it, most probably the rib flavouring, however I could not taste it.

Drinkt2u Pomegranite green tea

The drink seems to be from Korea because of the Dong Won logo.
Alot of Korean and Thai products these days have English.

Anyway was surprised this is sold in the US as well.
When I opened it, I could smell COFFEE and some slight cherryade as well.
It tasted like coffee too with some sourness,
There was strong roasted taste and aroma to it as well.
The good thing was it was not that sweet.

The colour of this drink was pink.

Korean Dong Won rice drink

When I opened the can, it smelt like Vitasoy Malt, I couldnt find any rice until I got to the bottom of the can, there were bits of rice that were similar to the residue found in extremely watery congee.

Basically it tasted like Vitasoy Malt but without the soymilk taste.
Apart from that, I found it too sweet and after diluting it tasted better.

According to the English labelling this drink is meant to be Fermented rice nectar.
However the label was a bit suspicious, it is a rice drink, but the ingredients do not mention any rice!

Chocolate sponge ice-cream

Tried this chocolate ice-cream sandwiched between two slices of sponge, it was quite nice and reminded me of Kinder's milk slices which is also frozen ice-cream sandwiched between spongecake.
