[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Chicken Balti

Again, there is always something at MS to fix my cravings be it Indian, Aromatic duck or just simply sweet treats.
This time I got the Marks and Spencers Chicken Balti because I felt like some curry.
It does not come with rice but I noticed the box was quite heavy.
To my surprise, there are big chunks of chargrilled chicken breast and I mean big pieces!!!
After microwaving it, the chicken was still tender and the generous curry sauce spiced with tomato and ginger went nicely with the rice.
Will definitely try other items in the Indian range.

You will also find one or two curries in the Marks and Spencers Halal range which I have also tried and the chicken Jalfrezi is worth trying.

[Review] Turkey Curry at Leon Restaurant

Originally I was planning to eat at Padella next door but it turned out to be an hours wait so had Leon instead as they were doing a Turkey Curry over the boxing day period.

According to the ad, it was British turkey, carrots and parsnips in a creamy curry sauce, topped with a sprinkling of crispy onions.

The food was served in a flash but then Leon is classified as a fast food chain with healthy food in mind.
The curry sauce looked a bit dry and dehydrated and to my disappointment I was given the cold turkey but they were happy to change it for a hot one without quibble.

The piping hot Turkey curry was absolutely delicious with a taste similar to Coronation chicken but much better as it had starchy parsnips and soft carrot chunks.

Overall, I was so glad I tried the Turkey Curry because the creamy curry paired with Italian brown rice which has a lovely al dente texture.

[Crisps] India's Masala Magic by Lay's

I didn't know that you could get crisps and cup noodles in India so when I found out, I managed to get some crisps from the local store.
I got Magic Masala by Lay's.

Inside, you get crinkle cut crisp and they were extremely spicy.
They tasted like spring onion crisps with a fiery kick but after you get used to the spiciness, they were quite good.

From the packet, it says they manufactured by Pepsico India Holdings.

Acecook Coco Ichibanya Curry House Instant Noodle

I was surprised to see some bowl noodles with Coco Ichibanya Curry House on it.

Coco Ichibanya Curry House serves nice curries with branches all over the world.

It was a square bowl with drainage holes on one side.

There were three bags of condiments: curry powder, pieces of meat and oil.

After pouring the water out, I added the condiments and mixed it together.

The taste was really nice with a strong curry flavour but it had a different taste to the curries at Coco Ichibanya Curry House.

If I were to have it again, I would drain the water sooner so that they are not so soft.

McCurry Burger Hong Kong

WARNING: The McCurry burger is really spicy!

Tried the new McCurry burger and it was spicier than I thought it would be!!

So be warned.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
McCurry burger:
The McCurry burger is spiked with tumeric, chili, black pepper and cloves.

It is a quarter pounder topped with McCurry sauce and diced onions.
Basically the burger was REALLY spicy and this was the spiciest burger I have tried at McDonald's and it was even spicier than the chili hot wings.
There is a MEGA McCurry too which has a double quarter pounder patty.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Iced Fresh lemon tea:

Basically this was plain red tea served with lemon slices in it with a separate tub of syrup.
The bitterness of the lemon rind made the tea really bitter and the tea itself was quite bitter.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Although this was too spicy for my liking I would love to try the burgers at the McDonalds in India such as the McPaneer.

Mild Curry Mayonnaise by Baxters

As well as the apple mayonnaise I really want to try the curry mayonnaise with chips, because I have my chips with mayonnaise or curry sauce, so I think the combination of curry mayonnaise put be a perfect compliment to my chips!

Another gourmet treat from Audrey Baxter. A Mild Curry Mayonnaise with a smooth, silky texture and a hint of India in the taste. Combining free-range egg yolks and sunflower oil, with mango purée and a sprinkling of curry spices, this extra special curried mayonnaise is a delectable delight. Ideal for adding a spicy twist to salads, mixing with chicken or prawns as a delicious dressing, or as a tangy dip with vegetable crudités.
