Portuguese canned mão de vaca (Cow feet with chickpeas) by Nobre

Portuguese canned mão de vaca (Cow feet with chickpeas) by Nobre
Another delicious cow feet stew, this time from Portugal which I tried last November and forgot to post until now.
There are so many different cow feet stews out there like Jamaican cow feet etc.
The Portuguese mao de vaca was really tasty with chickpeas and carrots, a very comforting savoury stew with rice.
After reheating it, the cow feet is soft and gelatinous and you will also find smoky sausages in the stew as well.

Hungarian tripe stew with knuckle (Pacalpörkölt by Hazias Izek)

Just like old fashioned English tripe and onions, the Hungarians have this delicious tripe stew with knuckle.
I was really fortunate to get the can which saves me travelling to Hungary.
To be honest, there are so many good stews and casseroles in cans out there when it comes to tripe and knuckles.
The texture of tripe and knuckle are probably the only items that don't have a funny texture from a can where as things like beef and chicken are mushy.
Anyway, back to this stew, it was really tasty that you wouldn't suspect it came from a can.
It was loaded with so much tripe and knuckle slices as well as the meat from the trotter.
Also tried the Brazilian canned pork knuckle stew which I shall post soon hopefully.

Kingfisher Crabmeat Shredded

I felt like trying some canned crabmeat for curiosity but sadly tt was not edible and nothing compared to the fresh stuff
It lacked umami taste and there were plenty of that plasticky stuff inside.
Although it wasn't edible I still plan to try the lump meat.

John West on the go noodles pots with canned tuna

I love trying instant noodles, pot noodles etc so I was captivated by John West on the go noodle pots because you have the fun of opening can and making some noodles in a pot!!
As well as noodles, you can get cous cous pots or pasta pots.
The four choices are:
Mediterranean Tuna Couscous Pot
Indian Tuna biryani Rice Pot
Thai Tuna green curry noodle pot
Italian tomato and herb pasta pot

I was at Tescos when I wanted to buy them and they only had Thai green curry and cous cous so I went for the Thai noodles.
The noodles were how I expected being the typical curry taste you get for noodle pots but it was fun adding the tuna from the can and it really took it to the next level making it moreish so I actually finished it.

As it was quite enjoyable, I also got the Italian tomato and herb from Morrisons.
The pasta is much better and really softens up in 5 minutes unlike other brands which are a little crispy.
The tomato flavour is a bit cheap overwhelmed by bell peppers and paprika flavours.
However adding the tuna took it to the next level making it moreish so it ended up delicious.

Foresight Pease Pudding

As a Southerner in UK, I have not seen much Pease Pudding also known as pease porridge / pease pottage in my area so when I saw a can of pease pudding at the supermarket I decided to try it.

Pease pudding is vegan and made of split yellow peas which is eaten up North with ham which makes sense because it tastes a bit like mushy peas.

You can also eat pease pudding with salt and vinegar like they do in Lancashire with black peas for Bonfire night.

I felt that the pease pudding is best microwaved to soften it up.

Tried the pease pudding on pitta, with ham and with salt and vinegar and my favourite was probably with ham or salt and vinegar, also tried it with mustard which gave it a punch that you will remember.

Pease Pudding Rhyme:

Pease pudding hot, Pease pudding cold,
Pease pudding in the pot - nine days old.
Some like it hot, some like it cold,
Some like it in the pot - nine days old.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers NEW Spaghetti Hoops and short cut spaghetti

Apparently the spaghetti hoops and short cut spaghetti are new according to the shelf label so I decided to try them.

The spaghetti hoops were quite nice and were a bit too sweet while the texture was a bit too soft but then all canned spaghetti hoops are too soft.

Again, same story with the short cut spaghetti, the tomato sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Remarksable Baked Beans

Baked beans are just baked beans but they were only 35p which prompted me to try them.

They were quite sweet just like Heinz.

Overall, worth stocking in the cupboard.

Heinz Tuscan Beans

I was really surprised how delicious these Tuscan Beanz were because there are lots of real tomatoes and onions in it so it doesn't taste sweet like Baked beans and the herbs make it taste fab.

I nearly finished the whole can in one go.

Morrisons All Day Breakfast 395g £1.27

I really liked this can of All Day Breakfast by Morrisons because there was black pudding inside it.

The baked beans were tasty too infused with a sausage and black pudding taste with a hint of herbs from the Cumberland sausage.
The interesting thing is that on the product description it doesn't mention Cumberland sausages but they are Cumberland in the Full product description.

Although it was a little bit too salty, the sausages and bacon egg bites were actually tasty and the texture was good compared to other brands I have tried.
In the can, I found, two pieces of black pudding, two sausages and some bacon bites which I can't remember how many were there.

Product description:

Full Product Name:

Heinz Five Beanz

BEANZ FOR GROWN UPZ!!!
The Heinz Five Beanz are basically the same as the original beans but they contain fives different types of beans in a can for more protein.

It contains a delicious mix of haricot, red kidney, pinto, cannellini and borlotti beans.

I found them tasting the same as the original but the bigger beans were harder and starchier in texture.
