[Review] M&S Marks & Spencers Cornish Cruncher Cheese bake

A while ago I got the M&S Cornish Cruncher Cheese bake which is a blend of Cornish cruncher cheddar with cider.
Words can't explain how delicious it was as a dip when it was baked.
It was simply delicious with some crusty bread and it also tasted good with pasta.

[Review] M&S Marks Spencers Cornish Creamery Whole Milk

I have had countless desserts and drinks with Hokkaido milk dubbed as a good creamy dairy product in Asia.
Native to UK, we have dairy products from Cornwall coming from Jersey and Guersey cows produced at the famous Roddas Cornish creamery.
Ultimately, Cornish clotted cream is the best but I just had to try their milk as well hence I got a bottle from M&S.
The milk was definitely creamy and aromatic so it is going to taste good in custard and rice puddings.
I ended up using it in bread sauce, chocolate milkshake and hot chocolate milkshake.

[Review] M&S Marks Spencers Cook with Diced Onions

As I was making some stew, the Marks Spencers Cook with Diced Onions were a really handy ingredient as the onions are diced uniformly so you won't sting your eyes chopping them.

[Review] Waitrose Cooks' Ingredients Forced Rhubarb

I love Rhubarb anything but it occurred to me that I have never had any fresh rhubarb before yet it is native to UK.
When I saw fresh Rhubarb at Waitrose, I fell in love with the shocking pink colours that were shiny and metallic.
Rhubarb is an odd vegetable that you eat for dessert.
Although it looks like celery, the structure is nothing like celery, I was surprised that once it is cooked it is soft so you don't have to remove the skin which looks stringy.

I had the rhubarb as a dessert and as a savoury dish.
The simplest dessert is rhubarb custard but since I didn't have any custard in the cupboard, I mixed a farley rusk biscuit with cashew milk and had it with rhubarb.
The taste was amazing that I had seconds.
While I was poaching the rhubarb, you get this beautiful pink liquid which you can retain to make pink custard or some pink drizzle.

For the savoury dish, I did a stew inspired by Persian cuisine.
As the rhubarb is sour, I decided to pair it with Hunza apricots which have a toffee taste and simmered everything together with finely chopped onions and chicken.
The dish was lovely but the only thing I didn't expect was the colour change because it goes brown.
If I were to make this dish again, I would add some cinammon and more Hunza apricots for a stronger sweet taste but overall I am so glad I tried fresh rhubarb.

Lyons cakes sponge puddings - Cherry bakewell review

I was at One Below for some stuff and spotted these sponge puddings by Lyons Cake since 1884.
There was cherry Bakewell, sticky toffee and golden syrup which were all tempting.
It is frustrating no one has reviewed these puddings hence I decided to try the Cherry Bakewell.
The puddings only require 30 seconds in the microwave and best served with custard.
I didn't have any custard in the cupboard so tried the cherry Bakewell on its own.
Although it was a bit sweet, it was actually really nice.
The sponge was rather moist but there was a strong aromatic cherry flavour complimented by the cherry sauce which dripped down the pudding nicely.
Will definitely buy the sticky toffee and syrup soon.
The best thing is that these have a good long shelf life so you can stock them up.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Cod Fillet Fishcakes with a creamy parsley sauce centre

Every supermarket is doing fishcakes with fillings.
M&S has a good variety with traditional yet modern fillings like crushed peas, creamy parsley and punchy ones like Katsu.
So far, my favourite has been the crushed peas.
This time I got the creamy parsley filling which was really comforting.
It brought back memories of having fish with parsley sauce at school but the it was much nice because the fish was fluffy and silky encase in a breadcrumb coating.
Overall, I really enjoyed this fish cake!
