Aldi Jelly & Custard

Aldi's new jelly & custard
It is new at Aldi but Morrisons have it too.
I didn't have any expectations because the Morrisons version was terrible so I'm glad to say Aldi's version was much better.
It wasn't heavenly but the custard and jelly was pleasant and not artificial.
The texture of the jelly was too soft for my liking lacking gelatine.

Aldi Rhubarb & custard Sundae

I was really excited when I saw these as a rhubarb fan but unfortunately they were disappointing.
If I ate this blind folded, all I could taste was the vanilla and nothing else.
The texture of the cream was weird like gelatine mousse.

Aldi Diplomat Biscuit tea

Having tried the Yorkshire Biscuit tea which tastes like biscuits I had to get my hands on the Aldi dupe to compare.
Unfortunately, it is the same as the other Aldi teas, you get a lot of tea scum within seconds of putting hot water in the cup.
As soon as you pour the water in, the colour of the tea without milk goes extremely dark.
Sadly, the smell and taste of the biscuit was too light and over powered by the black tea base which was too strong and almost bitter.

Aldi Infused Olive Oil Garlic review

I was making buffalo Mozzarella  and tomato salad which calls for olive oil and balsamic vinegar so looked in the cupboard and for olive oil and found some Aldi garlic infused olive oil which my aunt bought.
It did just the job but it was good that the garlic would subtle because I wouldn't want it ruining my burrata.

[Review] Aldi Specially Selected Cranberry Houmous

Christmas is coming so cranberries are added to almost everything.
At Aldi, I spotted the Specially Selected Cranberry Houmous which got me curious because houmous is savoury but then it could work with cranberries because I've seen houmous with apricots.
It is topped with a spiced wine cranberry sauce and chestnuts.
To my surprise, the cranberry houmous was quite tasty because it tasted like Christmas roast because I could taste something similar to stuffing and it was not too sweet overall.

[Review] Aldi Gianni's Mini Viennese Mint Ice Creams

Wall's Viennetta is obviously popular hence there are so many other inspired Viennetta ice creams around so I am trying all the different versions that I can get hold of especially the mint flavour.
So far I have tried Wall's Viennetta, Icelands Salt Caramel Vienna, Lidl's version and now I finally got hold of Aldis.
Let see if other supermarkets will launch their own soon like Tescos, Asda and Sainsburys.
The Aldi version is appealing like Icelands because they come on sticks which make it convenient

I tried it as soon as I bought them and they were a bit soft so I had it again the next day and it was a bit firmer.
As for the taste, the chocolate was more prominent and it slightly bitter.
Overall, it wasn't but I don't think I will be getting it again.

[Review] Aldi Holly Lane Hazelnut Crispy Squares

To be honest, I was specifically at Aldi to get the Rhubarb Custard crumble tarts but stumbled upon these Holly Lane Hazelnut Crispy Squares.
They also had the chocolate & Marshmallow crunch which I would have also liked because of the Marshmallow but I guess the pink put me off.

Priced at 1.69 they were not cheap but if it is good then it would be a nice treat I got from Aldi and not a bargain.

To my surprise these hazelnut crispy squares were actually delicious.
The hazelnut, caramel and chocolate on the chewy crispies actually worked.
As they were quite sweet, I've actually cut the pieces in to four so that I can nibble on them when I want.
Putting them in the fridge make them extra chewy and less sweet :)
Unfortunately, the smaller pieces were quite addictive so you end up eating more.
