Waitrose new Black forest crumble and chilled custard

Who ever thought of this is a genius and it was executed well.
These days there are lots of black forests reinvented but some are just trivial by adding chocolate/cherry.
The black forest was quite different because they actually changed the crumble to a chocolate crumble with some chunky chocolate pieces.
The taste was good.
Tried it plain and it was how I expected it to be.
The best thing is that you get whole plump cherries that are still tart while the chocolate crumble is not too sweet.
I didn't heat the crumble to the point that the chocolate melted because I like the chocolate with a chew.
The crumble was not too sweet which lets you add custard to it.
Adding Waitrose custard took it to another level.
I plan to pair it with Tescos black forest thick cream but not got my hands on it yet.
Overall it was a really comforting dessert which is a winner for me more than a decadent rich indulgent dessert.

Waitrose Summer dessert chocolate strawberries

These chocolate strawberries are not chocolate dipped strawberries but strawberry shaped chocolate mousse with strawberry filling and a crispy base.
I got them because they looked nice so didn't have any expectations.
It was just rich chocolate mousse on the outside with some strawberry compote filling.
Overall, a nice looking high end patisserie treat from the supermarket which you can't get in some shit countries like Asia.

Waitrose seeded crumpets

Although Waitrose products don't impress as much as M&S, the seeded crumpets were delicious soft and squidgy.
You can always trust Village Bakery who make lovely crumpets for various supermarkets.
The crumpets were not overloaded with seeds which did not affect the overall mouthfeel.

Waitrose Fish Pie Review

You can never go wrong with a fish pie but unfortunately the one from Waitrose was disappointing.
With other fish pies the mash and filling are uniform but with this one the fish was all clumped in the middle.
The texture of the fish was clumped and too firm for my liking.

WaitroseDuchy organic houmous review

A while ago I got the WaitroseDuchy organic houmous which was really good because it was light yet creamy with a full body hence I really recommend this houmous.

2021 Waitrose finds for Easter and Toffee hot cross bun review

Waitrose has an impressive collection when it comes to Easter be it their own Waitrose brand or the Hestons from Waitrose range.
Last year we saw wonderful Scotch chocolate eggs, lemon shaped chocolate etc as well as Hestons Earl Grey hot cross buns.
This year we will see Heston from Waitrose Mocha Coffee Hot Cross Buns priced at  £1.70 for two.
Heston from Waitrose Chocolate Scotch Egg, Eggstraordinary Chocolate Banoffee Hen's Eggs and Eggstraordinary Speckled Eggs will also be back.
Waitrose will also have an Easter Chocolate Pomegranate for £3 made with caramelized white chocolate with pomegranite pieces.

Hot cross buns:
Toffee, chocolate orange, apple and cinnamon, St Clements and fruited.
Ended up getting the toffee hot cross buns which were ok, however the texture was denser than other brands.

[Review] Waitrose No1 Sourdough bread sauce

Bread sauce has not been mentioned much but it deserves just as much attention as sage and onion stuffing.
It is another vital element in roast dinners which I think more and more restaurants should serve so that people are reminded of this classic English sauce.
During the Christmas season, you will find bread sauce mix and fresh bread sauce at the supermarket.

Bread sauce is made of milk and onion with breadcrumbs and butter added as thickeners, seasoned with nutmeg, clove, bay leaf, pepper, and salt.
Waitrose has taken bread sauce to another level with the use of Sourdough.
I was expecting the texture to be different but it was same as the regular bread sauce.
The only gripe was the taste because it was too creamy and tasteless.
