[Review] Morrisons Fresh Cream Lemon Palmier

I have been contemplating whether or not to get the Morrisons Fresh Cream Lemon Palmier because I am not fond of Lemon curd but the Palmier looks instaworthy because of its size.
Ended up getting it one day because it was reduced.
The lemon palmier was nicer than anticipated because the lemon curd they used was really nice and not too offending.
The cream was light and fluffy which went well with the palmier.
Sometimes, they have jam palmiers which would definitely be my thing.

[Review] Sainsbury's Iced Finger buns

I love iced buns because its just simply a bun with icing.
There are two buns in a box so I had them over two days, strangely it tasted better the next day because the texture was just better because it was harder and it was a bit sticky and soft for my liking on the first day.
Overall, I am glad I tried Sainsburys version so I can compare with other bakeries.

[Review] Waitrose Chicken in Mushroom sauce with Wild Rice

A while ago tried the Waitrose Chicken in Mushroom sauce with Wild Rice which was Chicken breast in mushroom and white wine sauce with long grain and wild rice.
It took me a while to write this up because it just wasn't tasty and I wasn't sure whether it was safe to eat or not because the plastic film in the middle was broken but luckily the paper sleeve stuck to that part because of the sauce.
Anyway, decided to try it anyway, but the rice was really hard but then you could tell the rice was going to be hard because it was rattling about in the box before I put it in the microwave.
As well as the rice, the chicken was tough and dry so I don't think I will try this again.
Another complaint was the plastic film which did not come off easily like M&S which I took for granted.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Fried Onion Brioche Burger buns

I am not fond of Brioche because of the texture and taste as they are slightly sweet but since M&S had these Fried Onion Brioche Burger buns I fell for them.
The crispy onions were nice but its still a brioche so not my cup of tea.

[Fruit review] Plaintain

Plaintains look like bananas but they are much bigger in size and they are ready to eat when its black!
On the contrary, bananas are best eaten before they go black and the inside is white whereas plaintains are light to bright orange inside.
Most people cook plaintains because they are too starchy when eaten raw so that's why you see a lot of it in Caribbean dishes.

[Fruit review] Amla, Indian Gooseberry and Grandmas Amla tea

Amla berries are basically Indian Gooseberries, the anatomy of these berries are so different to gooseberries which are like grapes.
Amla berries are hard to touch and there is a bright green stone inside which has an interesting shape.
As for the taste, it is very astringent but it is said to be good in reducing sugar.

It turns out that my grandmas was already in the game because she made some Amla tea which I drunk before without realizing.
Her version is different to the Indian version by crushing the berries and natrually drying them in the sun.
To drink, you simply add hot water to it.
Strangely, there was no bitterness and it just tasted refreshing.

[Review] ASDA Potato Cakes

I love potato cakes hence I am trying to try all the different supermarket versions as well as brands like Warburton etc.
Potato cakes come in different shapes like round, square and even shaped like a farl.
ASDA's version is rectangular and noticeably soft compared to other brands.
It was particularly memorable because the potato cakes were really thin compared to other brands.
The overall taste was not too bad.
