ASDA OMV no prawn cocktail

Oh my days, the asda OMV no prawn cocktail is Cholesterol free because they are vegan prawns.
The texture is like raw lobster/king prawns and konjac.
It's a shame M&S pulled out their mayo no prawn because I would have loved that.
There is no fishy taste which would please some and it heavily relies on the dressing because the vegan prawns don't have any particular taste.
Saying that, there is an aftertaste which I can't quite pinpoint yet.
The texture of these vegan prawns are definitely better than the ones in Asia which are like chewy konjac.
Overall a must try!!
After visiting the plant expo, I discovered that these zhrimps are made by caviart in Denmark.

ASDA Just Essentials Egg Custard Tarts

As if Just Essentials weren't affordable enough, these egg custard tarts were reduced to 15p!
They were quite bland when cold and more flavourful heated up.
Overall, they were not too sweet!

ASDA mince pie inspired cookies

To be honest, I am not really a mince pie fan so these cookies are love and hate for me.
They were strangely moreish because I loved the soft chewy texture and the sweet sultanas but at the same time I didn't like it because there was such a weird aftertaste from the raisins.
I was fearing the orange element of it but it didn't turn out that annoying but they were really sweet.

ASDA Double Gloucester onion & chive

I admit I didn't open the truckle in a nice way but cor blimey the onions and chives are really strong!

ASDA Festive slices

Chicken slices are good but Festive slices are even better when you have sage and onion with chicken.
The beetroot sprinkle gives it that festive touch and I am glad the cranberry wasn't too prominent being too sweet.
Adding some festive sauces can enhance the taste but they are good without any sauces.
Also available at Asda are the FESTIVE BAKES in the frozen section but according to their website, they are almost identical except the frozen one does not have beetroot sprinkle.
Overall, I am really glad I got it.

ASDA vanilla cream sponge review

I should have trusted myself that I wouldn't like this based on the Asda cream roll I tried earlier.

Basically the same sponge roll and jam but in a cake.

[Review] Pork Farms 2 Vegan Porkless Pies exclusive at ASDA

The Pork Farms Vegan Porkless Pies exclusive at ASDA hence the special trip to ASDA.
I am not keen on pork pies because I am not fond of grounded meat as they sometimes contain fat and weird things.
Vegan pies do the trick because it is only made of plants.
The Pork Farms Vegan Porkless Pies were quite good, the pastry was like your usual water crust pastry and the filling tasted like sausage so overall recommended.

[Review] ASDA Potato Cakes

I love potato cakes hence I am trying to try all the different supermarket versions as well as brands like Warburton etc.
Potato cakes come in different shapes like round, square and even shaped like a farl.
ASDA's version is rectangular and noticeably soft compared to other brands.
It was particularly memorable because the potato cakes were really thin compared to other brands.
The overall taste was not too bad.

[Review] Filled cookies at ASDA! Strawberry cheesecake cookies & Cherry bakewell flavour

When I found out about these filled cookies I had to try them.

My first attempt failed because they didn't have it at that branch of ASDA because the bakery section was small but managed to get them at another store.

There are two to choose from: Cherry bakewell and the strawberry cheesecake.

Clearly the cherry bakewell was my choice because I love cherries.

As expected, these filled soft cherry bakewell cookies from asda were so delicious.

At first they tasted like soft soggy jammy dodgers but then the almond really comes through.

The cherry filling was satisfying but I would have liked it to be more tart.

Another delicious way of having these cookies is the American way in a skillet with thick double cream.

Although they were a bit pricey, you don't really see these about.

There is also strawberry cheesecake but posts say they taste like strawberry jam so I can definitely imagine eating jammy dodgers for sure.

Now they have chocolate orange filled cookies!
