‘Very Important Biscuits’ by McVitie’s Digestives at ASDA

Since the beginning of the year, the talk of town has been the McVities popular British flavours like marmalade on toast,  cherry bakewell and strawberries and cream.
McVities has announced the launch of some premium VERY IMPORTANT BISCUITS that will be retailing at Asda from 12 July for £1.79/250g!!

The Very Important Biscuit range are digestives topped with a layer of chewy caramel which comes in three flavours:
Classic Caramel Bliss
Heavenly Chocolate Hazelnut
Luscious Blood Orange

From the press photo, the design is stylish and modern which has taken McVites to the next level with more focus on the biscuit than the brand.
For the new V.I.B range, my priority was the Heavenly Chocolate Hazelnut because it is different whereas the Luscious Blood Orange, I can imagine the taste being the marmalade on toast launched earlier topped with caramel.
As expected it was chewy with a nice hint of hazelnut and delicious just like the Digestive classic caramel and even better eaten in the winter because the caramel is even more chewy.
It would have been nice if there were some crushed hazelnut pieces but I would imagine increasing the price to make them just like having some raisins or currants in the new Christmas pudding digestives.

McVites Christmas Pudding Biscuits 2020:

A while ago I tried the McVities Digestives Classic Caramel which I believe tastes like the Classic Caramel Bliss and they were absolutely delicious with chewy indulgent caramel.
As well as caramel, they also had coffee caramel in the range which I sadly didn't try.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Garlic Mushrooms

I love garlic mushrooms so got the Marks and Spencers Garlic Mushrooms.
They were really comforting because they were just like the ones you get at the pizza places.
The mushroom was juicy topped with crisp garlic and breadcrumbs.

[Review] Aldi Gianni's Mini Viennese Mint Ice Creams

Wall's Viennetta is obviously popular hence there are so many other inspired Viennetta ice creams around so I am trying all the different versions that I can get hold of especially the mint flavour.
So far I have tried Wall's Viennetta, Icelands Salt Caramel Vienna, Lidl's version and now I finally got hold of Aldis.
Let see if other supermarkets will launch their own soon like Tescos, Asda and Sainsburys.
The Aldi version is appealing like Icelands because they come on sticks which make it convenient

I tried it as soon as I bought them and they were a bit soft so I had it again the next day and it was a bit firmer.
As for the taste, the chocolate was more prominent and it slightly bitter.
Overall, it wasn't but I don't think I will be getting it again.

[Review] Morrisons 5 Fruit Salad Doughnuts

As well as English comforts that are found at Morrisons fresh bakery, Morrisons occasionally comes out with some fun and creative items like the winterberry and Halloween green slime doughnuts.
This time, they came out with the Fruit Salad Doughnuts!!
Fruit Salad is a retro fruit chew that is Raspberry and Pineapple flavoured made by Barratts.

Sadly my nearest Morrisons didn't have it so I had to make a special trip to a bigger branch of Morrisons and they had it.
The bakery at that branch was impressive because there was an area designated for the bakery items as well as fresh cream cakes and other treats.

I ended up leaving the store with Fruit Salad Doughnuts as well as the Salted Caramel donuts because my local Morrisons doesn't have them.

Finally tried the fruit salad donut by Morrisons which I felt was more like a novelty donut.
When I cut the donut in half, it didn't look like there was much filling but it turns out that the filling is on one side.
Obviously the filling was not chewy like the sweet but like a thick creme.
The filling tasted just like the fruit salad sweets but the artificial pineapple notes were stronger than the raspberry so if the raspberry had been stronger then it would have been perfect.
They were nice but nice enough that I wouldn't want to finish the other four off because I can't wait to try the salted caramel which I expect to be good!

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Tarte Aux Abricots

A while ago I spotted the Marks and Spencers Tarte Aux Abricots (Apricot Tart) which I knew was going to be good.
According to the labeling, it is an all butter sweet pastry, brimming with juicy apricots in a light frangipane, topped with roasted almonds.
I found it similar to the apple Eves pudding at M&S.

The tart is simply delicious on its own or with a dash of cream because the apricots are soft and mushy bursting with flavour.
Each mouthful was heaven with the juicy apricots which were musky with a faint tartness.
Adding cream to it made it even more divine!

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers 2 Egg Custard Tarts

Nothing beats a delicious egg custard tart from Marks and Spencer.
These taste better than Chinese egg tarts as the filling is creamy with a lovely custard taste infused with nutmeg on a shortcrust pastry.
As well as the 2 pack, they also come in 4s.
This time had it warm by microwaving it for 5 seconds and the nutmeg flavour really comes alive.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers 2 Strawberry Scones

The sweet treats at Marks and Spencers are always amazing especially the strawberry scones with fresh cream.
The scones are soft and fluffy complemented by the deliciously light cream and fruity strawberry jam.
Something that I can never get bored of.
