Kowloon Dairy pop-up store

Kowloon Dairy has relaunched an ice cream pop-up on Wellington Street in Central following success from last year.
The pop up shop features the Pop in 2 Chill Central: Summer Palette theme.

New flavours this year are: durian, guava, sweet corn, apple, blackcurrant, chestnut, ginger and ginger candies, brown sugar and elderberry.

The pop-up is open until August 31.

[Review] Tesco 4 Egg Custard Tarts

Custard tarts or egg custards tarts are a favourite pastry treat in the UK.
Portugal and France have their versions.
They are just simply delicious because of the short crust pastry, custard egg filling and a dash of nutmeg.

[Review] Tesco Raspberry Turnovers

A turnover is a pastry that is folded over in a shape of a triangle filled with a filling.
The sweet version is usually apple and cream.
At Tesco, they had raspberry so decided to try it.

The raspberry turnover was quite nice, it was filled with raspberry sauce as expected and fluffy fresh cream while the puff pastry was light and flakey.
Overall I still prefer apple because raspberry seeds can be quite annoying.

Goodbye to Debenhams Eastbourne

Sadly Debenhams will be closing its doors soon just like the fate of woolworths, C&A, BHS, Littlewoods and the two other biggies near the seafront.
This department store has been serving Eastbourne since I don't know when.
When you go in the store, you are greeted with all these perfume smells on the first floor.
On the second floor is a restaurant.
Anyway, sad to see it go.

[Review] Young's Fisherman's Pie 320G

I have been eating Youngs Fisherman Pie for years and it is still consistently good.
It has pieces of Alaska Pollock Fillet in a Cheese and Chive Sauce Topped with Partially Reconstituted Mashed Potato and Cheddar Cheese.
The pie can be found at most supermarkets ranging from 1GBP-1.5GBP.

To prepare, you can either put it in the oven or microwave.
Obviously the oven would give better results but I microwaved it because it was quicker.
When it was ready, there was a delicious cheesy parsley aroma.
In terms of portion size, it would do as a light lunch.

The creamy sauce was simply delicious and not too overwhelming.

The chunks of fish had a good texture but the only complaint was the small piece of fish bone.

[Review] Batchelors Super noodles Limited Edition Cheeseburger

Tried the Batchelor Super Noodle Limited Edition Cheeseburger noodles.

Before trying it, I had the suspicion that it would be similar to Hong Kong's McDonald Shake Shake Double cheeseburger powder for the fries.

When I opened the Batchelor cheeseburger powder it smelled the same as the McDonalds one with a sour guerkin aroma.

After tossing the noodles in this powder, the sour gherkin taste was not as strong as McDonalds but the cheese was more prominent just like eating a melted cheese slice from a burger.

Overall quite nice if you can imagine eating noodles with a taste like melted cheese from a burger loaded with guerkins!!
