Sweets by Ask Mummy and Daddy

Discovered this brand of sweets by Ask Mummy and Daddy at the Specialty food fair.
Their range was really interesting as well as a must have.
The Tea Bears which are not launched yet are basically sweets as well as teas.
Add a few bears into hot water to make flavoured tea and the more bears the merrier for a stronger taste.
As well as the Tea Bears, the sweet range was good.
I like the way they do sweet treats from old school classics and hard boiled favourites to delicious cocktail candies and soft gummies.
The cake sweets are highly recommended like the Victoria sponge and Batternberg.
I tried the beer mug gummies, lemon drizzle gourmet sweet and pina colada gummies.
The beer gummies were just like beer but they were non alcholic and the aroma is like the smell you get when you talk to someone who has had beer.'
The pina colada was really nice, I liked the pineapple and coconut flavours.
Last but not least, the lemon drizzle gourmet sweets were like hard boiled lemony sweets.

A trip to Sainsfreeze!

Sainsfreeze, a pop up walk-in freezer store which is giving away free grocery products to show how shoppers can reduce food waste.
Wilted herbs can be mixed with oil or water to be frozen into ice cube trays for later use in soups or stews.
It definitely makes sense as sometimes you are buying previously frozen stuff like scones and other baked goods.
The only thing I did ever freeze were bakery items but after this visit, I have learnt that there are much more foods that can be frozen.

Ready to eat smoothie bowls at Authentic Fruits

I am so glad I crossed paths with Authentic fruits who specialize in making superfood, super easy for busy people!
Bringing you the fruits from the amazon to your finger tips!!
Authentic fruits have these smoothie bowls which come in pouches ready to serve or enjoy as they are.
I was given the Açaí Bowl and immunity Bowl which I tried both at their booth.
Both tasted amazing and I feel that the Acai bowl is great in the mornings while the immunity bowl is great for the afternoon.
They also do Acai oil which is like balsamic vinegar also great on salads.
Overall, I really recommended these smoothie pouches which saves me going to these health bars.
It also lets you go wild on your creative side and design your own smoothie bowls and pair it with different fruits and ingredients.
The Acai berry stones bracelet from authentic fruits is such a wonderful idea because it educates people about the acai berry and they make wonderful jewellry that you can wear.

JÖRĐ new oat and vanilla / oat and hemp drink review

Finally tried these drinks and they were surprisingly good.
The oat drink tasted remarkably like milk except that it was not as smooth as regular milk.
The oat & Vanilla was impressive because I liked the way it was flavoured but not sweetened which makes it versatile!

Last but not least is the oat and hemp drink which tastes just like milk.
I have always wanted to try this and I am glad I did.
It is interesting how hemp seeds can the fatty acids in hemp seeds can boost your immune system, which may help your body combat various diseases yet the plant itself can give you highs!

Smiling Fish crispy clams

I have been meaning to try these Smiling Fish crispy clams for ages!
They are basically crispy clams in a can but why a can when you can package them in pouches like crisps.
Anyway, it is definitely unique with dry food in a can as it rattles when you move it about.
Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with the initial taste but they do get a bit moreish once you get used to the sweet taste.
I mean who the heck puts sugar/sweeteners in bloody seafood.
Having tried food from Asia, I do find their snacks and savoury crisps on the sweet side.
Candied bacon is ok but not candied clams.
The taste is similar to eating crunchy candied mussels with a chilli kick.
Not bad but marks knocked off for tasting sweet.

Jammy Wheels Minis by Aldi!

Only got these Jammy Wheels Minis because they had a star in the middle.
The biscuits were quite messy, the jam from the top was sticking to the other biscuit on top of it.
The biscuits themselves are quite wonky where the top and bottom are not the same size.
The taste was ok but the jam isn't as chewy as the original and the biscuit is too damn soft!!

Aldi Nutoka biscuits

First came nutella biscuits, then something similar called McVities Bliss and then Nutoka biscuits by Aldi!
Having tried nutella biscuits, I didn't get the impulse to buy the Bliss biscuits but fell for the Nutoka ones because they have star patterns on them.
To be honest, I was a little disappointed because they filling lacked hazelnut taste and it was quite sweet.
The biscuit itself was a bit too hard and distracting.
It's like the biscuit texture and filling are having a fight and not getting along together!

Sainsbury potato scones

Again, it is always worth going to a super super Sainsburys store if you have access to one because they always stock more variety!
Picked up some potato scones at this store which are similar to Potato cakes.
The scones are much thinner compared to the cakes and have a firm chewy texture whereas the cakes seem softer.
Overall very tasty with some marmite and butter.

Gefen chicken instant noodle soup

I love trying instant noodles and Gefen was one that I rarely come accross so decided to try it out.
According to the label, this product is imported to Canada, made for the USA in Singapore!!!!
Interestingly, it contains no MSG as boldly labelled but in the ingredients you will find SG.
Overall, I wasn't quite impressed because you can really taste the polystyrene cup and white pepper.

Life Water

Life Water, a brand that uses locally sourced British spring water which reduces transport costs and saves on CO2 emissions.

Babbone Rossu limonellu at specialty fine food fair 2022

I was given a bottle of this limonellu at the specialty food fair where they had a booth.
At the booth, there were 4 flavours: original, vanilla, mint and strawberry.
Made with water, untreated Corsican lemons 24%, unrefined organic cane sugar and that's it.
It is a bit like lemon liqueur but  non alcoholic.
I found it a very bitter tasting lemon drink which you can drink on its own as a aperitif or dilute it like old fashioned lemonade.
Great for mixing in cocktails and stuff.
I like the bits of vanilla seeds in it even though you can't really taste it.
