Morrisons Bakewell Tart

I was given this Morrisons Bakewell Tart which I gladly tried as I don't really shop there.
Apart from the lack of almond taste,  the jam made up for it.
I just felt that it the overall bakewell tart was too heavy and oily that taking one bite is enough!

Dark Hazelnut popdots

I always see POPDOTS around at Coop but strangely I haven't been motivated to try them because I get the feeling they are probably dry inside covered in waxy chocolate.
Finally managed to try them as they were reduced to 49p.
They are from Spain which is interesting.
Overall, I would say the doughnut texture is the middle is a bit like brioche without the buttery taste and the chocolate covering with crushed hazelnuts were ok but the hazelnuts were not particularly aromatic.
The popdot as a whole was not too sweet but would not buy again.

New Galaxy Hazelnut flavour creamy truffle mini eggs

My first Easter Egg purchase this year was Galaxy because it is my favourite chocolate.
I also love hazelnut which was the reason I got this.
Compared to the picture, you will find the chocolate layer super thick, at least three times thicker than it is supposed to be.
The hazelnut truffle in the middle can barely be tasted.
Not a bad Easter egg if you love Galaxy.

ASDA Yummy Prawn Toast stars

Who does not like Prawn toast and being star shaped simply makes it even more delicious!

New Halos steamed doughnuts

GIFTED: New Halos steamed doughnuts.
After Christmas, it gets a bit boring especially the few days before you anticipate the new year to come.
Anyway, Halos gave foodies something to look forward to by launching their new doughnuts at ASDA on the 27th December!!
I was really lucky to get my mitts on them as Halos sent me a box to try with chocolate and choc orange.
Note, these are steamed hence the texture is a little different basically cakey.
My favourite of the two is definitely the chocolate because who doesn't like chocolate.
Can't wait to see them launch their other flavours they've developed like the raspberry and lemon.
Overall, I would definitely recommend them, £1.50 at ASDA.

M&S Food Ho Ho Hoisin Duck Dragon Roll

I know M&S Food Hoisin Duck Dragon Roll isn't an authentic sushi roll but I felt I had to give it a try because I liked the combo of ingredients.
I felt that if I didn't try this, I would be regretting for the whole year as some items might not return next Christmas.
Although, crispy onions are not used in traditional sushi, it is quite common in UK and I love it!
The Hoisin Duck Dragon roll is made with a cherry hoisin sauce, crispy onions, umami mayo, and pomegranate.
The taste of this was amazing as you can really taste the cherry as well as the hoisin and then you have the lovely crispy onions as well as other mind blowing spices so it was quite unsual in taste yet delicious.

Vietnamese goodies from the newly opened Hung Manh Vietnamese supermarket

I used to think Vietnamese food was pho, pancakes and stuff but if you go to authentic Vietnamese supermarkets there is loads to discover.
I got a good variety of Vifon products like noodles and congee and this really unique instant noodles which comes in a brown paper wrap.
On one of the visits,  I was really lucky to try their freshly home made Vietnamese sesame ball!!
To be honest, I am not a fan of sesame balls because I have been put off by the oily Chinese ones filled with nasty red beans but this was amazing!
The mung bean filling made a huge difference and it was not too sweet.
There was a good filling to pastry ratio.
The outer pastry was thick and satisfying which keeps it from soaking oil during the frying process.
If I knew how to make them, I did definitely fill them with modern ingredients like jam, pandan, chocolate etc but there is already place in UK that does that but I haven't had the chance to try.

Reviews for the food coming soon.
