McDonalds: Philippines

McDonalds in Philippines

I love the burger variety and drinks, especially the burger sauces.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Burger McDo : Beef burger served with Special Sauce
(a sweeter version of Thousand Island dressing) in a bun.
The colour of the sauce looks similar to prawn cocktail sauce.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Crispy chicken burger: The coating for the chicken fillet is the same as the one used in the fried chicken.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hamdesel wtih egg:
Pandesal bun served with pineapple glaze syrup, mayonnaise and Canadian bacon.
It also comes with scrambled egg, cheese or both.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Chicken McDo:
Fried chicken served with rice/McSpaghetti (one piece only) and chicken gravy, also available in a spicy variant.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Longaniza (Philippine chorizo) served with rice and egg - Breakfast

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
McFloat : Honey Banana
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
McFloat : Monster Rockin Ruby Float

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Berry McFlurry

Choco Mucho caramel wafer roll milk chocolate cereal crispies

Got this because I love chewy caramel, when I opened it, it reminded me of a flatter version of the LION BAR. It was a crunchy wafer roll in the middle with some chocolate filling covered in caramel and then coated with cereal crispies which was then finally coated in Chocolate.
There were no raisins or peanuts that are found in the Lion bar.
Anyway it tastes really similar to the Lion Bar.

Fudgee bar macapuno

http://www.rebisco.com.ph/products.php?display=brand&id=94
This was bought from a Philipino store and I loved it, much better than those artifical long life cakes sold in supermarkets that contain lots of grease.
It tastes fresh and was very coconutty.
The only negative comment would be the food colouring

Suncrest fudgee bar

Bought this from a supermarket in Hong Kong, however it tastes worse the ones bought from the Philipines which are also from the brand.
The ones in Hong Kong are oily.
The packaging is mostly the same except the Hong Kong is made higher end by using card packaging and gloss print.

But nice concept of tea flavoured soda.

Datu Putu spiced vinegar (Philippines)

Tried to get some JIFF lemon juice, but there wasn't any so got some spiced vinegar as a substitute.
There was lots of chili's, onions and garlic in the bottle.
The bottle is the same as the British milk bottles and the lid was difficult to open as it wasnt a screw one.
Anyway I poured the vinegar in a different bottle, because that glass bottle is hard to pour from.
I should have used a glass bottle due to plastic chemical leaching of the plastic with acid. OOPS!

I was bored of soy sauce, so got Chilimansi and Calamansi sauce, both are nice because it contains calamansi.
The Chilimansi is a nice mix of chili and calamansi.

Taro OTAP, Filipino crunchy puff pastry

The otap is an elongated puff pastry that is about four to six inches long and about two inches wide.
It has a flaky, brittle and crumpled surface that is sprinkled with sugar.
Eating this pastry would entail a lot of cautiousness, as fragments and bits of sugar may fall on the floor as you take a scrumptious bite.
The native delicacy is especially common in the province of Cebu where it originated.
However, the otap is also a popular snack in other provinces in the Visayas region, like Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental.
The native delicacy is usually composed of flour, shortening, coconut, and sugar.
In order to achieve the distinctive texture of the otap, it usually undergoes a two-stage baking process.
The first stage is to partially cook the dough and then sprinkle the top with sugar.
The second stage involves baking again the dough, but a little bit over the usual baking time in order to create an oval-shaped, flaky pastry that will become the otap.

The Otap was wrapped in fun crisp tracing paper instead of the usual plastic.

It was rolled to that shape and there are so many layers of pastry!
