Egaonowakka 徳用チョコ

From the packaging you can't quite guess what these are because its all in Japanese.

On the English it is labelled as: Choco snack.

Basically it is a hollow corn stick coated in delicious chocolate.

The corn snack reminds me of maize crisps such as monster munch but a sweet version.

The taste of these snacks were really nice and it tastes really familiar to something which I can't remember.

Japanese Tivolina cookies

Thank you IVYCWK for getting me this delicious tin assortment that comes in a pretty blue tin by Tivolina.

Inside the tin, there are two milk rolls, two green apple balls, two rose balls, two coconut chocolates and 2 white chocolate flowers.

All of them tasted delicious.

My favourite were the green apple balls.I thought it was solid apple chocolate but there was biscuit inside which was a perfect match and the biscuit balances out the chocolate so that it is not too sweet.
There was a hint of tangyness in the taste which was interesting.

The coconut chocolate was also nice too, it was mainly dessicated coconut infused in chocolate.

Cheese crackers

Got these cheese crackers from my friend Agnes and they are so delicious and addictive I ate half a packet.
They taste like Wotsits which are cheddary and cheesey but they are actually rice crackers.
The picture of the packaging was also from my dear friend because it tasted so delicious I forgot about it!!!

Lion corn snack

When I saw this it just reminded me of a huge pack of dehydrated sweetcorn that you get in instant noodles and soup.

The taste of the dehydrated sweetcorn was quite artificial from the aftertaste.
Initially it tasted savory when you put it in your mouth then after swallowing it, the taste is really sweet and artificial.
Apart from the taste it is just like eating dehydrated sweetcorn, if it had not been sweetened, the taste would have been natrual and perfect.

Glico Caplico Uji Matcha

Got this wafer filled snack because it looked really nice.
The filling inside reminds of me Aero chocolate and the sweetness was just right.
It was filled with uji matcha chocolate and the uji match (green tea) was not bitter.

Nabisco Picola uji matcha wafer rolls

Nabisco Picola 宇治抹茶

Tried these Japanese wafer rolls which are coated with Uji Matcha on the inside.
They were quite sweet but the Uji Matcha (green tea) was extremely bitter.
In the box there are two packets with six wafer roll inside.

Japanese smoked oysters - snacks

I am not a fan of smoked food, but because they were oysters I bought a packet.
It is not often oysters are served as packaged snacks, the ones I have seen before are dried oysters, fresh oysters or cooked oysters.

The packet was interesting, there were two places on the packet where you can open it.

Anyway, when I tore open the packet, the smell of oyster was strong, it smelt of the dried oysters with a slight smoked aroma.
The texture of the oysters were soft and mushy and tasted similar to the cooked dried oysters in Chinese cooking.

Overall, they were quite nice and there are six oysters in a pack.
The next day I did not get diarrhea, so theyre quite safe to eat!
I have previously tried packaged snacks similar to these such as kidneys and gizzards made from China which gave me diarhea!!

7-11's Ham meatball Oden おでん

At 7-11 they had Oden skewers, there were six different items so I tried the ham meatball.
Basically it tasted like a meatball and it was slightly spicy, the spices in that meatball tasted like the sichuan spices with aniseed and chili.

(Quoted from wiki)Oden (おでん) is a Japanese winter dish consisting of several ingredients such as boiled eggs, daikon radish, konnyaku, and processed fish cakes stewed in a light, soy-flavoured dashi broth. Ingredients vary according to region and between each household. Karashi (Japanese mustard) is often used as a condiment.
Oden was originally what is now commonly called misodengaku or simply dengaku; konnyaku or tofu was boiled and one ate them with miso. Later, instead of using miso, ingredients were cooked in dashi and oden became popular.
Oden is often sold from food carts, and most Japanese convenience stores have simmering oden pots in winter. Many different kinds of oden are sold, with single-ingredient varieties as cheap as 100 yen.

Regional variations

In Nagoya, it may be called Kantō-ni (関東煮) and soy sauce is used as a dipping sauce. Miso oden is simmered in hatcho-miso broth, which is lightly sweet taste. Konjac and tofu are common ingredients.
In Kansai area they are sometimes called Kantō-daki (関東煮 or 関東炊き) and tend to be stronger flavoured than the lighter Kantō version.
Oden in Shizuoka use a dark coloured broth flavoured with beef stock and dark soy sauce, and all ingredients are skewered. Dried and ground fish (sardine, mackerel, or katsuobushi) and aonori powder (edible seaweed) are sprinkled on top before eating.
Udon restaurants in Kagawa Prefecture in Shikoku almost always offer oden as a side dish, to be eaten with sweet miso while waiting for the udon.
In Taiwan, the dish is called Heilun/Olun (黑輪) in the Taiwanese language. Besides the more traditional ingredients, olen also uses many local ingredients, such as pork meatballs and blood puddings. More recently, oden is offered in convenience stores and is known as guandongzhu (Kuantung-chu; 關東煮) in Mandarin.
In Korea, Odaeng (오댕) is a street food that's sold from small carts and is served with a spicy soup. It's very common on the streets of Korea and there are many restaurants that have it on their menu or specialize in it.

Japanese swiss roll?

Fun swiss roll I had, but not actually roll shaped, more like a sponge with brown circles folded in half with cream.
As with all pre-packaged cakes, the cream and sponge has this weird chemical/alcohol taste to it.

Morinaga mash

Got this because of the packaging and the misleading translation which stated it had marshmallow inside.
The website for this brand is http://www.morinaga.co.jp/index.html which suprisingly has English, however the English site is not really up to date.

Anyway, the name mash reminds of mashed potatoes which totally cannot be related to chocolates.

Overall it tasted too sweet.
