McVities Hobnobs: Sticky Toffee pudding and chocolate brownie

Penguin biscuits

Penguin biscuits are another childhood classic found in lunch boxes, they are chocolate biscuits filled with chocolate creme and covered in chocolate.

Modern versions: Mint and Orange spotted at Sainsburys.

Wagon wheels

I remember wagon wheels were delicious but when I got them recently (JAMMIE EPIC Version), they were too sweet for their own good and didn't taste how they should. The marshmallow filling was non existent.

On another visit, I spotted them again and they were labelled as original with the look I remember so I suspect these taste nicer which I will need to try out again.

According to a youtube video by Mark Daws, visually you can see a reasonable layer of marshmallow filling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yj7KfNUvmsE

In the end, I got the original jammie which turned more epic than the one labelled as epic because the layer of marshmallow was visible and substantial.
As for the taste it was just amazing as you could taste the chocolate, marshmallow as well as the biscuit.
It is a pity I threw the other ones away or there would be some pictures showing a difference.
The Original ones appear to be for export as they have Russian, whereas the EPIC ones just have English and these are featured on the UK website.

Also spotted Wagon wheels teacakes jammie

Regular Conchiglie and mini!

Size matters and when you get mini conchiglie they are so cute!

Uncle Ben ready to eat Rices

I have tried so many ready to eat rices but I still haven't tried Uncle Ben's yet which I will try soon.
The latest range I discovered was the takeaway style chicken fried rice, coconut rice and chilli rice.

Sainsburys Strawberries and Cream hot cross buns

A while ago when I spotted these Strawberries and Cream hot cross buns by Sainsburys I was tempted but the thought of strawberries made me think of artificial smelling strawberries so I held back.
In the end, curiousity came to play and I ended up getting them.
Visually, you could see lots of white chocolate and some red berries which on closer inspection were cranberries and not strawberries.
When I opened the bag, there was a lovely fruity strawberry smell which was reassuring.
I decided to toast one half and microwave the other half.
The texture of both were good but I preferred the microwaved half as the white chocolate melted and the pieces of cranberries were moist.
The toasted half was not bad but it needed butter.
Overall, I am glad I tried it.
Rating: 4/5

Iceland Breaded Ham

The ham trimmings I wanted was sold out so I resorted to a trip to Iceland and found some breaded ham that was reduced.

It was only for a photo with pease pudding which was ideal.

Overall, the ham tasted how it should but the breaded part wasn't really outstanding.
