[Review] Aldi Holly Lane Rhubarb custard crumbles

Recently snackschats reviewed these Rhubarb custard crumbles which seemed worthy of trying so I made a special trip to Aldi for them.
Again I was bowled over by another Aldi product Thanks to @snackschat
This Rhubarb & Custard crumble was amazing, the pastry was light and soft topped with fine crumbles.
The star of the show had to be the filling, there were chunks of rhubarb and a thin layer of yellow custard.
Although it wasn't as tart as I hoped, it was still nice but the rhubarb chunks were a bit woody on the first tart, custard wasn't that visible.
On my second tart, you could visibly see more custard.
Definitely worth trying because it is hard finding anything with real chunks of rhubarb in it.
Just as snackschat said this gives you more satisfaction than your ordinary Kiplings.

Also had it with some custard and it tasted fantastic.

[Review] Sabra Mezze Houmous Extra

The competition for houmous is fierce these days with every supermarket having their own range of houmous in different flavours.
As I haven't tried the Sabra Houmous I decided to review it.
My first impressions was that the tub was nice but the contents looked thick inside.
According to the label, it is a smooth, rich and decadent. Sabra Houmous Extra is topped with pine nuts and Olive Oil and contains extra whole chickpeas at the bottom for the most authentic tasting houmous available.

After trying it, I was quite impressed because it tasted like the houmous you get at restaurant where it is thick and creamy.
The pine nuts and whole chickpeas are what makes it special.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Roasted mushroom & onion pie

I love pies with mash on top but sometimes I don't feel like meat hence the Marks and Spencers Roasted mushroom & onion pie was perfect.
It has roasted mushrooms and caramelized onions topped with creamy parsley mash on top.
The mushrooms are in this delicious red wine gravy so you get that complete pie satisfaction but without the meat.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers 4 Bubble and Squeak Cakes

Spotted the Marks and Spencers 4 Bubble and Squeak Cakes so had to get them because I love bubble and squeak.
In the box, you get 4 big cakes.
The taste was a bit a disappointing because it was bland but after adding some salt it was much better.
The bubble and squeak cakes were a bit oily as well.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Chocolate Swiss Roll

A while ago, I spotted these fresh cream rolls at Marks and Spencers.
There was Passion fruit or Chocolate.
As the passion fruit was new, tried that first and it was amazing because it was refreshing.

This time I got the M&S Marks and Spencers Chocolate Swiss Roll which is a moist sponge filled with whipping cream and gooey chocolate sauce.
Again, it fulfilled my sweet cravings especially the chocolate sponge because it was light yet the chocolate was intense complemented by the dreamy cream.
The chocolate sauce wasn't gooey as stated but I still loved it because it was not cloyingly sweet so I was happy eating that roll to myself over three days.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Mandarin Dessert serves 4

Again another dessert that I haven't tried.
This time it was the Mandarin dessert which is mandarin in an orange jelly with sponge and orange mousse.
Think of it like a trifle with a jelly base, sponge and then the mousse.

To be honest, I didn't like it as a whole because it didn't seem to taste nice having the jelly and mousse together but eating the layers separately I found it more delicious.
The orange mousse is actually refreshing and the reason I liked it was because the taste was really natural as most orange desserts can taste artificial.

Moving on the jelly, it was sweet and quite sweet with super juicy pieces of mandarin so overall it was really nice.

The only thing I didn't like was the soggy sponge which was too sweet for my liking.

This dessert is also available in the pot version so if you are curious it is best to sample that.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Syrup Sponge Dessert

At Marks and Spencers there are some products which you hesitate and some which you just immediately want.
This time it was the Marks and Spencers Syrup Sponge Dessert which I didn't hesitate because there is nothing like a good syrup sponge pudding except that this one is a chilled dessert so it was cold.
Never the less it was how I expected it to be, the custard and creamy was light and delicious with sweet syrup at the bottom that really satisfied my sweet tooth yet it wasn't cloyingly sweet.
I also plan to try the toffee trifle which is similar to this.
