Grab and go check out free shopping!!!

To my knowledge, AmazonFresh is probably the first in the UK to introduce walk in walk out shopping where you just walk in, grab what you want from the shelves and you will be billed with the items that you took.

Last year, I visited AmazonFresh at Canary Wharf where you just walk in and walk out, we were billed correctly for the items we got.

Later this year, various supermarkets now offer this service like Aldi, Tescos and Sainsburys and there is a similar smaller store at Excel, Custom House.
To be honest, the Market Express at Excel was the one I liked the most which is powered by Amazon.
It was good because you just tap your credit card to go in and the machine registers for you hence you do not need to download any apps and taking time to register your details and card etc.

The Aldi Shop&Go store is located in Greenwich for some strange reason but luckily still in London so we gave it a visit too.
It was really good because this is the only branch that is not packed with people because of it requires app to enter.
The only downside was that they do not have the newest products so you still have to go to the regular stores to buy them.

Thankfully, Tesco's GetGo and Sainsbury's Smartshop Pick & Go are both located near each in Holborn however they do not open weekends and evenings so only people working in the area can benefit from this.
Managed to visit, the Tesco but was billed incorrectly, again it was a small store so only the basic items were stocked.

Will hopefully visit the Sainsbury's store in due course.

Would love to visit Morrisons but it is located in Bradford and open to staff only as they are in trialling stages.
Lidl does not have one of these stores yet but they are working on a Lidl Go app where customers scan products on their phones but most supermarkets already have this Scan and Go service.

ALDI no prawn cocktail sandwich

On a recent visit to ALDI, I was so surprised to see the vegan no prawn cocktail sandwich as there was no news about it.
Morrisons seem to have a no prawn cocktail as well but it was sold out every time i attempted to get it.
Aldi's version claims to be deep filled and I can see how they pulled it off with the right choice of lettuce.
The pictures on the sandwich box wasn't shy with the frisee lettuce, The rigid frisee lettuce helps to puff out the filling while overall it was loosely filled so there are less vegan prawns.
After visiting the plant expo, I discovered that these zhrimps are made by caviart in Denmark.

Goplana Jezyki biscuits (Polish)

These biscuits were so delicious they can be summarized in one sentence.
Imagine a lion bar that is black forest flavoured in a biscuit with chewy caramel and crispy bits like Mcvities caramel digestive coated in dark chocolate .
Yummy!!
Available in many other flavours like advocat, salted caramel, coconut, hazelnut etc.
It is interesting, there was a raisin caramel one which I believe would taste like picnic somehow!!
Jezyki Chewy chocolate caramel biscuits.
The coconut was way too sweet but had lots of chunky coconut flakes while the salted caramel was the nicest.
The advocaat strangely tasted like banana.

Tesco finest Rich and Sweet Steamed duck buns

Spotted these citrus looking Rich and Sweet Steamed duck buns at Tescos so I thought I'd them a go even though I'm not a fan because they are always too sweet.
I felt that these were worth trying because it is unusual for a duck filling as well as being paired with tangerine be it authentic Chinese or inspired.
The instructions are 1 minute but 30 seconds was already sufficient with my microwave.
To my surprise, they were fantastic and even better executed than some so called hotels/fine restaurants in Asia which failed to deliver when they tried to serve some contemporary buns.
First, the duck filling was visually and texturally like the mince you get in cottage/shepherds pie with some carrots.
The buns were really tasty that I ate four in one go because it was meaty but not too sweet.
The tangerine taste does not come off as syrupy sweet nor is it bitter but it a faint aftertaste but a bit stronger when the buns have cooled down.
Overall, the minced duck meat is moist and it was just delicious as a whole.

Pukka All Day Breakfast Slice

Who doesn't love a proper English breakfast??
I just had to get my hands on this breakfast slice which is just that.
To my knowledge, only Morrisons bakery have done the breakfast slice and the Greggs one is just beans and cheese.
The Pukka Breakfast Slice is described as an All Day Breakfast Slice with Baked beans, potato, sausage, smoked bacon and mushroom all wrapped up in puff pastry.
Definitely up my alley as it has everything as well as mushrooms ad potatoes.
So how did it taste?? To be honest, every bite was lush!
Although it wasn't well filled but it was seriously tasty as it was more savoury in taste than sweet which I wasn't expecting because I thought the beans would make it sweet.
The bacon pieces were more like cubes of ham and overall, it was like having a creamy breakfast slice if you know what I mean in the sense like a creamy mushroom slice but with breakfast filling.
I couldn't quite find the sausage pieces but you can taste it because of the herbs.
The bits of mushroom here and there really took it to the next level so definitely getting more and hopefully getting my hands on the Ladbaby Pukka Christmas Pie.

Flint Grenki snacks (Polish)

To be honest, I don't know what came first? toast chips, rye toast chips or bruschetta chips.
But all these have one thing in common and that they are delicious and the flavours delivered.
The bacon toasts are seriously like Smiths bacon fries and the bacon horseradish is even better, you can really taste that horseradish with a saltiness.
The horseradish one also tastes a bit like wasabi.
In terms of texture they have a really HARD crunch especially the rye toasts.
You can even get red caviar/crab flavoured rye toasts which I really want to get my hands on.

The Laughing cow light with blue cheese

I contemplated a while whether to get this or not because this is more like a processed cheese product.
The last time I bought this brand was for the Laughing cow Blends - Chickpea and cheese.
Anyway, got it to try as I dont often buy cheese triangles.
Somehow I was expecting specks of blue in it but there wasn't.
It just tasted like the regular cheese triangles with a hint of blue cheese.
Will try and get my hands on their latest plant one.
