[Review] M&S Marks and Spencer Clotted Cream Rice Pudding with Nutmeg

Rice pudding is one of my favourite desserts at school, so when I saw this I had to get it.
Being Marks and Spencer's rice pudding, they use clotted cream instead of milk which adds to the taste but quite fattening as well.
There are two slightly different offerings of rice pudding at M&S, the 2 Clotted Cream Rice Puddings or this big one which has nutmeg.
Clotted cream has this heavenly taste which tastes like heavy whipped cream with a buttery taste.
It can be eaten hot or cold but I prefer it cold because it tastes nicer.
The rice pudding was creamy with al dente translucent rice in it spiced by the nutmeg.
After finishing the pudding, there is still a lovely milky creamy aroma in the mouth.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencer 2 Clotted Cream Rice Puddings

Tried this in 2014.
Rice pudding is one of my favourite desserts at school, so when I saw this I had to get it.
Being Marks and Spencer's rice pudding, they use clotted cream instead of milk which adds to the taste but quite fattening as well.
Clotted cream has this heavenly taste which tastes like heavy whipped cream with a buttery taste.
The rice pudding had a lumpy surface and curdling skin which is normal.
It can be eaten hot or cold but I prefer it cold because it tastes nicer.
The rice pudding was creamy with al dente translucent rice in it.
After finishing the pudding, there is still a lovely milky creamy aroma in the mouth.
There is another rice pudding at M&S which is bigger and contains Nutmeg.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Mushy Peas

So far I have had some tasty pea items at Marks and Spencers:
Pea and Mint Soup,
Pea and Ham Soup,
Minted Mushy Peas

Hence when I saw the Marks and Spencers Mushy Peas, I didn't hesitate to get them.
According to the ingredients they have only put salt and pepper in it but strangely they taste so good that you wouldn't believe it is simply just salt and pepper.
The texture was thick and starchy yet silkily viscous and the taste was comforting.
I think it is an acquired taste but I loved it and will definitely get it again as well as the pea and ham soup which are similar in texture.
To summarize I think mushy peas is like an English version of refried beans but much better.

New AVOCA-DOUGH buns at M&S Marks and Spencers

Introducing the AVOCA-DOUGH Buns! In a high-street first, M&S have launched these EPIC vegan-friendly avocado burger and hot dog buns.
Pureed avocado replaces egg and gives the buns a slight green hue, whilst coconut oil enriches the buns for that classic brioche texture.
Update May 2021: Now plant based.

AVOCA-DOUGH

Got the Burger buns which taste just like sweet brioche with an alcoholic kick and no sign of avocado in the taste.
As well as avocado buns, I have also tried avocado based icecream and cakes which were quite nice.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Plant Kitchen No Pork Sausage Rolls

The game is on for vegan sausage rolls and M&S Plant Kitchen series has it as well.
So far I have tried Greggs, Couglans, Morrisons vegan sausage roll and it is sad to say as a M&S fan the Morrisons one was better.
To summarize the Plant Kitchen sausage meat was tasteless but the pastry was spot on.
There is an interesting yellow tinge on the pastry which disappears after it is cooked.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Plant Kitchen Sweetcorn and Chickpea Burgers

I love the plant kitchen range at M&S so I am gradually eating my way through the range which is constantly offering new products every now and then.
A while ago I tried the no Beef patty and this time I got the Marks and Spencers Plant Kitchen Sweetcorn and Chickpea Burgers.

I didn't really have any expectations because I was expecting it to be similar to those bean burgers.
The Plant Kitchen Sweetcorn and Chickpea Burgers are seasoned with garlic, coriander and cumin.

After grilling them for a bit they were ready to eat.
The texture was hard and slightly dry.
As for taste, I felt that it tasted like a flattened falafel with sweetcorn and whole pieces of chickpeas hence the burger was very wholesome and packed with proteins.

Overall, I would recommend it people who like falafel.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Cosberg Lettuce

Spotted some Cosberg lettuce at M&S so decided to try it.
Cosberg lettuce is basically a cross between Cos lettuce also known as Romaine lettuce and Iceberg lettuce hence the name cosberg.
The leaves have a lovely crunchy texture and the a boat like shape which makes it ideal for putting minced meat like the Thais do.
As I didn't do the cooking, the person who did just blanched the cosberg leaves and served it with some chicken and mixed grains rice.
I loved the lettuce as it was sweet and kept its crunch while cooked.
Thankfully I also tried it on its own before it was cooked and it was definitely crisp and sweet so it makes a great salad vegetable.
