Wheat Crunchies are something that I always eat but never really blogged about so decided to blog about it as I have blogged about other crisps and snacks.
They come in three flavours: bacon, spicy tomato and cheese & onion.
Cheese and onion and spicy tomato are quite tasty whereas the bacon doesn't taste as good as Smiths Bacon Fries because it lacks that meaty smoky touch,
The spicy tomato has a nice tang similar to prawn cocktail but without the acidity.
As for the cheese and onion, it has to be my favourite because I found it quite cheesy.
Tried Smiths Frazzles ages ago but never blogged about it so hence the post.
Strangely Frazzles and Bacon Fries are from Smiths yet they both taste so different.
Frazzles are no where near as nice as Bacon Fries because first they are salty and the crunch is different as well as the texture.
Compared to Bacon Fries, frazzle are oily.
Probably the Cheesiest Easter Eggs of its kind at Marks and Spencers!
Made with Barber's Farmhouse Cheddar and a vintage 18-month matured Red Leicester "yolk".
The eggs come in a cardboard box, to make them look like real chicken's eggs.
As well as the regular size, there is also a The Big Cheesy One which feels more like Easter.
It was really difficult deciding on the regular size or the big one but for convenience the regular one gives you six times the fun when you eat them and you can start on one whenever you feel like it but with the big one is like starting on a big piece of cheese so you have to find a box to store it.
Anyway, I ended up getting the big one.
I couldn't wait to start on it but slicing it half took quite some effort because the cheese is quite hard and you need a big knife.
Once it was sliced, I was rewarded with a beautiful cheese inside that looked like an egg sliced in half.
The taste was as good as expected especially the farmhouse cheddar which was strong and cheesy.
I love Macaroni so go the Marks and Spencers Plant Kitchen No Chicken or Bacon Pasta Salad which is cooked pasta with sweetcorn, soya protein chunks and smoky flavoured almonds in a vegan mayonnaise dressing.
The soya chunks tasted Mexican because of the spices while the pasta was a bit bland but ok.
Other reviews on Marks and Spencers Plant Kitchen range:
Tried Marks and Spencers Super Wholefood Salad with creamy lemon & mint dressing which was basically a lot of proteins in this box and lots of beans.
I liked the edamame beans but I think you need an acquired taste for wholefood salads which contains lots of pulses.
I love Scampi Fries because of the lemon.
Scampi Fries were launched in the 1980s but I am not sure if the recipe or shape has changed.
Anyway, the taste is still good but slightly oily when you pick them up.
They are very crunchy in texture with a hollow centre.
Currently Scampi Fries are sold together with Smiths Bacon Fries in the Smiths Savoury Selection 6 Pack.
Got the M&S Marks and Spencers Minced Beef Shortcrust Pie which looked nice in the purple box.
I was a little bit disappointed with the minced beef filling because the beef had lot of elastic chewy bits which I was not expecting from Marks and Sparks.
