Fresh jujube [chinese red date] 紅棗



I do not like jujubes especially the dried version, but today I was given a fresh version to try and it tastes much better than the dried one.
It is not as sweet as the dried version.
The taste and texture is the same as the red 蜜棗 except drier.

The stone inside was long, thin and sharp.

Hung Fook Tong's Wolfberry and longan drink


Tasted quite nice and pleasant, the longan taste was strong, however the wolfberry couldnt be tasted.
The colour of the drink was clear brown.

C'est bon taro cake

The packaging looks Japanese, but it is from China.
Slightly greasy and too sweet.
You can taste and smell chlorophene in the cake.

Momoko Aloe series

There are two flavours in this series:
-Aloe and honey
-Aloe and lemon
Aloe and honey tastes fake, it tastes of white grape essence.

Aloe and lemon tastes slightly better.

I would not buy this drink again.

Hung Fook Tong's sweetest concoction



7-11 Signature series - Pear with water chestnut and fig drink

The sweetest combination for a drink consisting of fig, pear and water chestnut.
I quite like the combination of fig and water chestnut, however I was quite iffy about the pear.
Drinks containing pear are always sweet.
The drink was over my definition of sweet by 500 times.
After diluting about 150ml with 200ml of water it was much nicer, and you can taste the water chestnut, the taste of the others were not that bold.
According to the label, it also contained apple juice as well which I could not taste, mostly probably added in as a preservative/stabilizer.

Thai sweet squares






To be honest, I do not know what this is.
I like trying things when they look interesting.
They were white squares with green filling sandwiched in between, there was also black.
I assumed black was sesame or red bean, so I got the green.
Both were individually wrapped inside.
The white layer reminds me of those Chinese snacks made from pressing flour together.
The texture and smell of the white part was almost the same.
The green layer was sugary jelly with coarse sugar texture.
Again it was too sweet and I was slightly disappointed I couldnt taste any pandan.

If it did not have the smoked taste I would have liked it and I would have like more herbs too.

These dinner sausages were bigger than the breakfast rosemary ones.
They were oilier due to the cheese in it and the spinach couldnt be tasted, but bits of it could be seen inside the sausage.
