Sainsburys Bao's of Holly review [Vegetable bao buns] and other finds

I didn't have any expectations for these buns but glad I got them after trying it.
The bao's are soft, moist and pillowly when microwaved.
The vegetable filling was nice and savoury and taste was much like the vegetable filling in the itsu gyozas.
You can really taste that aromatic sesame oil.
The vegetables were a bit mushy and you could see some fine silk threads which probably come from the yam beans and there was a slight bitter taste in the filling.
Overall pricey in Sainsburys term for £6 but cheaper and fancier than traditional China Town buns unless you go to Ping Pong or dim sum restaurants that are modern, presentable that are more for the English palate.
For me its about taste more than authenticity.

Other finds:

Sainburys taste the difference Fish pie puffs

Sainburys taste the difference Naughty & nice chicken chunks

Sainburys taste the difference fondue bites

Sainburys taste the difference lamb shawarma flatbreads

Sainburys taste the difference salted caramel profiteroles with cinder toffee

LOUX Sour Cherry Drink (Greek)

LOUX Sour Cherry Drink is a Greek carbonated sour cherry drink.
This drink was surprisingly nice, it tasted like black cherry which was sweet and not at all sour however sadly it wasn't really fizzy.

Macadamia milk by Moo is Moot

Possibly the first macadamia milk and it tastes really good especially the tea and coffee.
On its own, it doesn't have any nut taste which makes it versatile.

[Gifted] Cupcakes from The Cupcakery London

Thank you The Cupcakery London for these beautiful decadent cupcakes.
Love the soft and moist cake based with a hint of coffee filled with thick and velvety hazelnut paste.

Polish Peach Cake from Mleczko

I was surprised to spot a peach cake at Mleczko so decided to try it because it was unusual.
It was the typical Polish cake with a sponge layer, a cream layer etc.
I was hoping for more peaches in the custard layer but there wasn't however the poppy seeds in the cake gave it an interesting crunch.

Vege la pasta paste [pate with pumpkin, chickpeas and sunflower seeds] Polish

A tasty veg pate that's creamy with savoury tomato and whole sunflower seeds.
It's a bit like eating tasty firm baby food puree.

Grab and go check out free shopping!!!

To my knowledge, AmazonFresh is probably the first in the UK to introduce walk in walk out shopping where you just walk in, grab what you want from the shelves and you will be billed with the items that you took.

Last year, I visited AmazonFresh at Canary Wharf where you just walk in and walk out, we were billed correctly for the items we got.

Later this year, various supermarkets now offer this service like Aldi, Tescos and Sainsburys and there is a similar smaller store at Excel, Custom House.
To be honest, the Market Express at Excel was the one I liked the most which is powered by Amazon.
It was good because you just tap your credit card to go in and the machine registers for you hence you do not need to download any apps and taking time to register your details and card etc.

The Aldi Shop&Go store is located in Greenwich for some strange reason but luckily still in London so we gave it a visit too.
It was really good because this is the only branch that is not packed with people because of it requires app to enter.
The only downside was that they do not have the newest products so you still have to go to the regular stores to buy them.

Thankfully, Tesco's GetGo and Sainsbury's Smartshop Pick & Go are both located near each in Holborn however they do not open weekends and evenings so only people working in the area can benefit from this.
Managed to visit, the Tesco but was billed incorrectly, again it was a small store so only the basic items were stocked.

Will hopefully visit the Sainsbury's store in due course.

Would love to visit Morrisons but it is located in Bradford and open to staff only as they are in trialling stages.
Lidl does not have one of these stores yet but they are working on a Lidl Go app where customers scan products on their phones but most supermarkets already have this Scan and Go service.
