Tesco Morello cherry chocolate strudel

I have been eyeing the Tesco Morello cherry chocolate strudel ever since I saw it.
Finally got it when the freezer was empty and I was so glad I did.
It was definitely not bad priced at 1.60 because it was really good.
The only complaint was the pastry which was too thick so you have to bake it longer and also watch it at the same time or the top gets burnt.
Otherwise, the cherry and chocolate filling was really decadent without being too sweet.

Coop Christmas Dinner Spring Rolls

I love how traditional foods all get a modern twist.
First, there was the cheeseburger spring rolls and now there is the Christmas dinner spring rolls filled with turkey, stuffing, vegetable with a side of cranberry sauce.
To be honest, the Christmas dinner spring rolls were the next best following the burger spring rolls.
You could really smell and taste the stuffing while the turkey meat was moist and not too tough as it was minced.
The rolls tasted good on their own and didn't really need the cranberry sauce.
I found the cranberry sauce rather disappointing because it was too sweet.

Bumper cars, laser quest and ice skating all under one roof!

During the summer, I have been seeing ads about FlipOut where you can go ice skating, play laser quest and all that in Central Croydon but strangely I could not find this place.
I assumed it was all going to take place at the former Allders location but it turns out that they are located on Frith Road next to Cockney's Pie Mash shop!

Anyway, managed to stumble accross Flip Out because it was opposite Subway so I made a mental note to revisit.
I visited on a weekday when it was only £16 for the whole day ( £15 if you book online).

When I arrived, it was only me so the staff felt like it was a chore having to supervise whatever I went on but they were ok when more people arrived.
Overall, it was definitely a fun packed day being able to play mini golf, bumper cars, laser quest and I finally learnt how to ice skate as well.

Ferrero Rocher DARK ice cream bar

Earlier this year, Ferrero unveiled its first-ever Ferrero Rocher, Ferrero Rocher Dark and Raffaello ice cream sticks which everyone has been eagerly been waiting for.
I finally got my hands on them recently at farmfoods for 3.99 where there are 4 inside.
The taste of these were amazing, it was like biting into a ferroro rocher with that hazelnut crusted chocolate coating and then you get the decadent hazelnut ice cream in the middle.
Overall, I rate these highly as they were really good and not too sweet.

Opies Pickled Walnuts

At a recent shopping trip, I spotted these pickled Walnuts which were interesting!
Pickled walnuts are a Traditional English pickle which dates back to the 17th Century, often mentioned in many written articles.
The walnuts are pickled before they are ripe hence the shell is soft and can be eat.
They taste like preserved prunes with a soft texture because they have been pickled.
Overall, I liked them but the sweetness was a little bothersome.
As well as pickled walnuts, OPIES also have lemon slices, pickled cherries in the range.
THERE WAS A RECALL RECENTLY FOR THESE WALNUTS BUT LUCKILY IT WAS  NOT THIS BATCH AS THE BATCH DOES NOT CORRESPOND TO THE ONES RECALLED.

Omnipork strips and mince

Omnipork is a famous plant based alternative for pork which is rising popularity all over Asia with it being used in dumplings, mince dishes etc.
You can now get them in the UK at selected Sainsburys stores.

I got a free sample to redeem by registering for their newsletter.
Before I went, it was hard deciding between the mince and the strips but when I got there, they only had the mince which I redeemed with the coupon.
While I was at the store, I discovered the strips were reduced so I bought them as well and ended up trying both.

I have only tried omni products at the restaurants so it was good trying recipes myself.
The mince is quite sticky so you have to use a spoon and scrape it all out as some gets stuck but due to the stickiness, it makes it ideal for making patties or fillings.
Before I did anything, I cooked both of the products without seasoning to see if there was any basic flavour in it.
The mince tasted a bit beany while the strips were tastier with a light bacon taste.

For the mince, I followed the recipe on the pack and made mapo tofu as well as meat patties which worked out really nicely.
I felt that it was best not to cook the mince too long because it will become chewy, same applies to the strips.

The strips were served in a bun as suggested and I cooked the strips with miso barley for a nice punchy flavour.
Overall, I was really impressed with the taste.

I was really fortunate to get a physical coupon sent to me to try a pack of omnipork because it was such a task to redeem it.
With the existing redemption, you had to physically print it but there was a download involved.
There is also a real difficulty when asking a friend to print this because they have to "Accept the download" which is harmless according to the info but just for a simple coupon why is this needed.
It would be great if they could send a digital coupon as everything is going online these days.
After emailing Omnifoods, they were superb at following up the situation as they posted me a coupon which you just scan at Sainsburys and it was fuss free.

THIS ISN’T PORK SAGE & APPLE STUFFING

So far I have only tried two products in the This Isn't range and that is the bacon and pork sage & apple stuffing.
The stuffing balls were extremely tasty with hints of sage and apple with a soft mushy and starchy texture.
The only gripe was the saltiness.
I also found the space filler rather entertaining which wouldn't have been possible in the old days!
