Sainsburys spiced green pepper & onion relish - summer edition

Although summer is well gone and it's autumn and almost touching into Christmas, I spotted the Sainsburys summer edition spiced green pepper & onion relish reduced for 60p so decided to try it.
It is relish with courgettes, onions, green peppers and spices according to the ingredients.
To be honest, I would say it was a really good onion with depth but the green peppers were not that prominent.
The relish was really tasty with sausages in a roll and also with Gentlemen's relish (salted anchovy paste).

Moju Ginger shot and hot mango immunity

I was given these shots at London Bridge from a Moju popup jeep to try.
After trying them, I can definitely confirm it is made with ginger alright because you can feel the ginger burn your throat as you swallow it.
It is definitely legit because it tastes the same as homemade but better because it is not sweetened with honey.
After drinking it, you can feel your body warm up a bit from the heat in the ginger.
The hot mango immunity was very different in taste, also fiery but very spicy from the cayenne peppers.
It also has vitamins as well as apples, oranges and mango.

Sainsbury's Pigs in snowy Blankets dragon roll

I love trying anything unusual and different so when I spotted the pigs in snowy blanket ie pig in Japanese blankets I had to give it a go.
A lot of people may think it is wrong on every level but if you have been to Asia and had their their fake Western food, this couldn't be more right!
Surprisingly, I found it delicious because the cranberry chutney worked really well and the sweet chilli wasn't too sweet.
I felt that if the onion toppings were crispy then it would have been perfect because sausage and onions are always a match made in heaven!

On my next visit, I will have to get Sainsbury's Rudolph's Christmas Feast Sandwich.
Root vegetable patty, sage and onion vegan mayonnaise, umami carrot ribbons, caramelised carrot chutney, roasted seasoned and sweetened pumpkin and sunflower seeds and spinach in a star shaped roll.
AND ITS VEGAN!!!

Also to come is the Brussels sprout and parsnip snacking bhajis which I hope to find soon at Sainsburys.

Swizzels Drumstick Chocolate

The Swizzels Drumstick Chocolate bar was launched earlier this year, it is filled with a delicious raspberry & milk centre that is supposed to taste like the drumstick lolly.
I knew I was going to like it but the taste wasn't a surprise because it tasted like this other chocolate that also has raspberry and milk filling.

Morrisons Ginger Parkin

This is the reason you got to love Morrisons because they always have English treats.
The Yorkshire parkin is a strongly-spiced sticky gingerbread-cum-cake flavoured with treacle and dark brown sugar that is traditionally eaten on Guy Fawkes Night (the fifth of November, aka Bonfire Night).
Basically, the ginger parkin tasted exactly the same as a ginger loaf but it contains oats in it which gives it some chew.
It is best to choose a soft one because the texture is nicer and best paired with custard.
Since I had some cream, I paired it with that and it was good too.

Sainsburys Stamford budget 69p frozen meals

As well as Tescos budget 65p frozen meals, Sainsburys also have their version branded Stamford for 69p.
I only discovered it recently because the white look with black words was simple yet stylish.
At first, I couldn't quite tell if it was American or English but when I looked closer I realized it was Sainsburys own brand which was impressive.

The choices were quite good, they had the all time favourites like lasagne, macaroni cheese as well as traditional English meals like beef / chicken hotpot.

Although lots of comments say the meals are bland, they are better off bland than over salty and it is an easy fix with a pinch of salt.

In total there are 7 to choose from:
Minced beef hotpot, beef lasagne, chicken curry, macaroni & cheese, spaghetti bolognese, sweet & sour chicken with rice, chicken hotpot.

I decided to try these 69ers and got the minced beef hotpot, macaroni & cheese, spaghetti bolognese and the chicken hotpot.

Chicken hotpot review:
To be honest, it wasn't bad but the sauce was too sweet because of the carrots and tasted a bit like chicken a la king.
There were a few pieces of firm chicken breast.

Beef hot pot:
The potato slices were good but the beef was not edible because it was pure chewy gristle.

Macaroni Cheese:
This was my favourite and I shall be restocking!
It tastes like bechamel more than heavy cheesy so it lighter and not so high in calories.

Beef bolognese:
To be honest it was really tasty, pasta was al dente.
However the beef wasn't edible just like the beef hotpot.

Sainsburys Plant Pioneers no prawn tempura

The Plant Pioneers no prawn tempura looked the part as tempura which convinced me to try them.
I was expecting them to be tasty because the no prawn sesame toasts were good.
However, the taste was a bit different and the batter was too thick.
If would taste good if you pair it with matching sauces like soy sauce and wasabi.
