Vegan Fried Egg from Plant the Seed

I have always wanted to try the vegan fried egg by Greedy khao however they are not doing it anymore.
My prayers were heard when I saw it at the vegan market however they were all sold out so I had to wait another three weeks until their next event.
Finally that day came and it clashed with Fathers day so lunch was imminent which meant I had lunch already.
Luckily they were able to do me a light option.
As expected, it was amazing especially the yolk which had this very similar yolk taste with a yeasty marmite aftertaste, however it would have been more realistic if the white part was whiter.
Overall I'm so glad I was acquainted with this as I prefer sausage and egg over Thai style but I wouldn't mind trying the greedy khao version.

Vitaoat

Another step forward for Vitasoy!!
Introducing the new VitaOat which is plant based, low in sugar and zero cholesterol.
Everything is going plant based these days.
Just like healthy soymilk, oat milk has even better benefits as it helps reduces cholesterol and it has a great taste!

Lidl Cheddar Cheese Croquettes

I found these Cheddar Cheese croquettes in the fridge so just took a photo for reference as I didn't have any expectations for them.
To my surprise, they were actually delicious and better than M&S which I found bland hence it deserved a proper picture which I took at the store.
The cheesy smell wasn't that nice to begin with but the potato filling was really good like the Birds eye waffle potatoes which is sticky and fluffy texture.
I wouldn't mind getting these again.

M&S Taste buds Cottage Pie

I love cottage pies but sometimes the regular portion can be quite filling so getting the Marks & Spencers Taste Buds cottage made it ideal for lunch.
The portion was just right and the contents were tasty.
Heating it in the oven would do the mashed potato more justice.
Overall, a comforting cottage pie.

M&S Monkfish Fillet

It occured to me that I have only had Monkfish once and that was seared monkfish tail rolled with prosciutto topped sea urchin foam so when I saw it reduced at Marks and Spencers I had to give it a try.
Strangely have eaten Monkfish liver more than Monkfish itself as it is more commonly found in Japanese food.
I am glad I got the fillet as I was able to taste it better this time round, the fillet shrunk and plumped up when it was cooked.
The texture was firm and springy which was interesting with a slightly sweet taste.
Overall, I liked it but not sure why it is pricey.

Wall's Pastry Chicken Fajita Slice

Earlier this year, Wall's Pastry launched these microwavable slices which can be microwaved in the bag for 2 minutes.
I ended up getting the Chicken Fajita Slice which was too spicy for my liking so the Chilli Beef Burrito slice might have been better.
The pastry was a let down as it was doughy and tough.

M&S White Asparagus (selected farms)

Marks and Spencers has a wonderful selection of fruit and vegetables.
On this trip, I spotted white, purple and regular green asparagus.
Normally I have white asparagus at the restaurants when it is in seasons which costs a bomb but it wasn't that expensive here so I grabbed a pack.
The asparagus is white because it was grown in the dark.
In terms if taste it is not as grassy as the green ones and there is a slight bitter taste.
Ended up blanching the white asparagus and having it with maple cured bacon as well as Monkfish.
