Coop Slow cooked lamb shoulder with mint gravy review

Tried the Coop Slow cooked lamb shoulder with mint gravy a while ago which made a nice dinner.

It cooked nicely and the lamb was tender and delicious in the gravy but the mint was not strong enough.

Coop Irresistible Apple pie

I didn't really have any expectations for this apple pie as it is from Coop.

Surprisingly it was a delicious apple pie but the pastry was a bit under cooked in the middle to the extent you could smear it with a knife.

Other than that, after taking a slice, the rest can be fixed in the oven.

Lidl Italian range

I'm impressed, better than the crap in hk. I don't really shop at lidl but they give you more choices per product eg gnocchi an/tortellonin and they even have ndjuda pizza which is only offered at restaurants in hk. Price wise, most items are under 3 quid. Basically hk restaurant chefs have to get inspired by other countries to serve it on the menu but then not that it would be popular with the Chinese palette. Interestingly chains like MS and Tesco can't compete with their range.

M&S Marks and Spencers Count on Us chicken tikka and rice

Tried the Count on Us chicken tikka and rice and I felt everything was the same in terms of taste but you get less rice which is a reduction in calories.

M&S Marks and Spencers Made without wheat Gluten Free golden syrup pancakes

As a curious foodie, I tried these pancakes to see how gluten free and wheat free pancakes would taste and how the texture would be.

The taste was the same but the texture was interesting, it felt like I was eating a wholemeal firm pancake with a gritty.

Morrisons Fishmonger's Plaice Fillets review

I love plaice fillets so when they were reduced at Morrisons for 37p, it was definitely a good bargain.

The fillets were small but they were great grilled and lightly pan fried in cornstarch.

Nostalgic strawberry splits, screwballs etc at Iceland

Strawberry splits and screwballs are not new but nostalgic these days as not many places have them.
At Iceland, I spotted their own brand of nostalgic treats like Strawberry splits, Raspberry Ripple Screwballs with a Hidden Bubble Gum Ball, Milk lollies with vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, rocket lollies and bubble gum swirl.
