It was surprisingly nice, I loved how sharp it was and it didn't have that annoying mince pie spices like the original.

Lidl Batt Brown sauce
My regular greasy spoon had the Lidl Batt Brown sauce so I got to try it.

Lidl Vegmondo Pesto Lasagne Tofu
Lidl Pesto lasagne with minced tofu.
I love lasagne and tofu so this was a match made in heaven.
It delivered so I was happy because the pesto sauce was really nice and strong but the lasagne sheets were not quite soft enough.
The consistency of the sauce is really thick like curd and does not go runny when you heat it up and the tofu pieces are finely minced which blends in nicely.
Very tasty but photos can't do it justice.

Lidl For You Heart-Shaped Blueberry Mochis £ 3.99
Again this is a one off I bought because they were heart shaped mochis and they are pricier than their regular ones which cost £2.99 for six.
Anyway, I actually liked them more than the authentic ones because it was vanilla ice cream in the middle and not blueberry. I was some artificial blueberry taste in the mochi but luckily you could not taste any.
Although they are a little bit too sweet, I still liked them.

Lidl For you Cream & Cherry Choux £ 3.49
I love cherry anything so when I spotted this, I had to get it.
Coming from Lidl, £3.49 for four was a bit pricey but then it's just a one off as no other supermarket is offering this.
The cream was synthetic and sweetened while the cherry filling made up for it. It wasn't like a quality cherry filling but at least it wasn't cherry puree. The choux was a bit dry though.

Lidl 2023 Valentines Treat review
Valentine's and other festive days are always exciting because there are so many creative food treats on offer.
This year, the Valentine's range at Lidl is quite impressive with heart shaped gnocchi, red velvet souffle desserts, heart shaped ravioli, pizza, red velvet muffins and nuggets and some familiar faces are back like the Leone rose cones.
To summarize, the gnocchi hearts are rather starchy and have a strong potato taste.
The hearts ravioli is tasteless compared to M&S so it really relies on the sauce.
Last but not least was the inedible red velvet muffin which was like rubbery foam.

Lidl Chinese style pork shoulder steaks
Every supermarket is doing a good variety of meats for the summer BBQ, Lidl and Aldi have chimmichurri steaks, while most offer Chinese style pork.
Traditonal Cantonese Chinese roast pork (char siu) uses the shoulder cut, however from my supermarket finds, Tescos, Iceland and Sainsburys offer the belly cut and Lidl has the shoulder cut.

To compare with Chinese roast pork, I got the Lidl Chinese style pork shoulder steaks.
There is no right and wrong which cut to use as it is for BBQ but for the sake of Chinese roast pork the shoulder steak is a better choice.
When I took the meat out from the packet, there was a strong smell of aniseed and five spice.
Overall, the taste was spot on with a strong aniseed taste.
If you want a more authentic taste, try glazing it with malt syrup or honey so that it will caramelized.
According to the ingredients, beetroot was used for the colouring.
To summarize, it tasted good but the pork was like cuts of pork glued together hence I give it a 3/5 rating.
