Marks and Spencers Plant Kitchen hoisin Sweet and Sour no chicken review

So far all the Plant Kitchen range this year has been pretty good especially the New York style no beef, No chicken tikka and the Shanghai no beef noodles.

I knew the sweet and sour no chicken was going to be good without even trying it because it uses the same pea protein as the no chicken tikka but what surprised me was that not only the mock meat was good but M&S nailed the batter which has that Chinese takeaway quality without the oil!

The sweet and sour sauce that came with it was full on with sweet and sour flavours and the pineapples in it really made it taste sensational that I ended up slapping a lot of the sauce on rice and chicken.

Actimel immune system coconut / vanilla

Actimel yoghurt drinks are quite popular in the UK and there are so many flavours.
This time I tried the coconut and vanilla in the immune system series.
Again, I believe you would have to drink these regularly to see any benefits but I was merely interested in trying them for the taste.
The vanilla fare better as it was sweet and fragrant while the coconut tasted like bounty so if you like bounty then thats flavour.

Benecol Peach & Apricot Yogurt Drink review

As a foodie, I like to try yoghurt drinks as well so tried the Benecol Peach & Apricot Yogurt Drink which claims to lower your cholestrol.
To be honest, I think you would need to drink this regularly to see any benefits.
I was trying it purely to see if it tasted good and the apricot peach flavour was pleasant to drink.

M&S Marks and Spencers Made without wheat Gluten Free spaghetti bolognese review

At M&S, it is good that they have a nice variety for spaghetti bolognese as you will find various ones to suit your diet eg gluten free, plant based etc.

This time I tried the gluten free and it was surprisingly good in the sense the spaghetti strands were al dente while the meaty bolognese was delicious.

M&S Full English ,Veggie, high protein smoky bean egg pot breakfast and Halloumi hot breakfast review

While I was at M&S on the 19/02/2021, I spotted the Full English Breakfast and new high protein smoky bean and egg pot breakfast at @marksandspencer

It is interesting how the Full English has a shelf life of two days (to be used by 22/02/2021) with a cooked egg.

I happened to be at M&S on the 22/02/2021 and it was reduced so I got it as I was curious to see if the egg was still fresh on the use by date so I had it for tea that afternoon.

According to the instructions, you remove the lid and replace it loosely and microwave for 2 minutes which I did.

As I wasn't sure if the plastic label was microwable, I removed the label but left the clear window on otherwise it wouldn't be a lid if it was open.

After microwaving it, the contents looked as good as if it was freshly served, the bacon looked moist but the thing I was interested in most was the egg!

To my surprise after two minutes in the microwave, the poached egg white was still tender and the yolk was runny.

The beans which I was dreading were amazing because they were different to the overly sweet M&S canned beans and tasted like my favourite St Nichols beans.

Basically everything was delicious including the sausage and rasher of bacon so I got my greasy spoon craving satisfied without the greasyness.

As well as the Full English, there is a Veggie breakfast which I also tried however the Full English was better as it was not as sweet.

After the successful launch of the full and veggie breakfast, the halloumi hot was later introduced.

The halloumi heated up nicely in the microwave and the rest was consistently the same eg the beans, mushrooms and spinach.

Last but not least is the NEW high protein smoky bean egg pot breakfast which I had my eye on for a while because I love spicy beans. Since I saw canned refried beans at M&S, it has always made me crave for some spicy beans hence the smoky bean pot.

To be honest, it was really tasty because the smoky beans had a spicy kick as well as smokiness, and the eggs were nicely dressed in sour cream and yoghurt.

M&S Marks Spencer Make me melt cheese bake review

The Cheese bakes at M&S are quite good and there are quite a few different ones.
This time I tried the Valentines one which has tangy cheddar & moreish Lancashire dusted with paprika paired with the mini burger buns from the MS mini burger collection.
Overall, I found the cheese a bit too heavy for my liking and it wasn't as good as the Cornish Cruncher launched last year.
