New Biscakes at M&S Marks Spencers

 New biscakes at M&S.

I'm not sure if I'll like them but the cake part should be ok.

It reminds me of these weird cakes in Asia with crispy things and cornflakes in them.

Sainsburys Morello Cherry Pie review

Sainsburys Morello Cherry Pie was delicious and quite sweet with a bit of colouring I believe.

Pastry was quite thick.

Compared to M&S you get less whole Morello cherries because it is mixed with some cherry mince but still worthy of trying.

Morrisons Greek Pasta Salad review

I'm not really a fan of the salad bar at Morrisons.

This time tried the Greek pasta salad which was a bit too sharp and heavy for my liking.

M&S Marks Spencers Scottish Kippers with butter

 According to The Guardian newspaper.

"Kippers were the quintessential British breakfast food — also enjoyed for high tea and supper — of the Victorian and Edwardian eras. They sold well until the 1970s when they fell out of favour with the advent of fast food which had greater appeal for younger diners."

Kippers are smoked herrings.

Interestingly North Americans have it for Breakfast as well.

I came across kipper on the menu once but regrettably didn't go in and have it because not many places serve it.

Due to lockdown, it was even harder to try kipper but luckily Morrisons had kippers so I got some for breakfast.

Ideally, there should be some egg there was I decided to just have it with toast.

The kipper was the best I have tasted so far because the texture of the fish was soft and flakey and the bones were manageable.

Morrisons Stir Fry Egg Noodles review

Every supermarket has their own brand of egg noodles and this time I tried Morrisons.

The noodles had a lovely soft texture and cooked nicely.

Flora Light ProActiv review

It has been a while since I've had margarine so I've forgotten how it tastes.
As I was having oven bottom muffins for breakfast which calls for butter I tried Flora Light ProActiv on it and it tasted just as good as butter.
The margarine went on nicely and my oven botton muffin was heaven.

Oven bottom muffins review

As a curious foodie, I love to scout for things that I have never tried before.
On a recent supermarket trip, I ran into some Sheldons oven bottom muffins, at a glance they just looked like bagels and roujiamo with a slightly browned surface.
They weren't really appealing because they look big but they were incredibly soft.
After googling it, all I got was that they were baked at the bottom of the oven so I took to instagram for answers.
There were lots of pictures of these oven bottom muffins with bacon and egg etc.
One lovely baker @bakes_by_tom was really kind to answer and explain what these oven bottom muffins were.

It's a bread roll, bap, barm, bread cake, tea cake etc but these to me are the best all rounder to use for breakfast sandwiches, salad sandwiches even put a burger on it at a BBQ. Traditionally they are baked in the bottom of the oven when the ovens were turned off at the end of the baking day hence the name oven bottom. I think you can buy g.h Sheldon's oven bottom muffins in the supermarket around the Uk. also supermarket do sell they own branded ones. These are traditionally oven bottoms what are flatter, sold all over Lancashire in shops indoor and outdoor markets.

To conclude, they are not English muffins even though they are called Oven Bottom muffins because the texture is the soft and fluffy which makes them great for breakfast fillings.
They taste so good when they are toasted!
So now there are three muffins that are totally different, the American muffin, English muffin and the Oven bottom muffuns.

The ones by Sheldon were amazing!
I simply toasted them and tried it with butter and it was simply heaven, it was like eating a perfectly buttered toast from your favourite greasy spoons.
Although they look big and filling, they're actually light as a cloud!
Adding bacon and a little mayonnaise was bliss so now I can understand why this is the perfect thing for breakfast.
