McVities Christmas Pudding and Gingerbread digestive biscuits review 2020

I was looking for the new festive Christmas Pudding and Gingerbread digestive biscuits at Co-op on my last visit and couldn't find them.

Went back again and discovered they were on the bottom corner of the shelf.

Why oh why did co-op have to put the new and exciting biscuits in an unnoticeable place.

A few weeks later, these new biscuits were at a better location and they had the McVities gingerbread digestives as well.

Ended up getting both.

According to the comments, the Christmas pudding is better so I tried that first.
You get the typical taste of chocolate digestives followed by spices.

As for the gingerbread digestive, there wasn't much gingerbread taste which was disappointing.
The ginger taste was so light that you had to concentrate your senses to taste it.

Overall, I am glad I tried but at a reduced price because they were not worth the hype at full price.

[Review] All Day Breakfast Wall's Lincolnshire Sausage Baguette by Rollover

As well as their signature hotdogs, Rollover has an All Day Breakfast Wall's Lincolnshire Sausage Baguette which I discovered in the hot cabinet at Co-op.

"The sausages heat from frozen in their Free-On-Loan Steamer or Bain-Marie so it’s ideal as an early morning offer."

I would have tried the hot dog but not every day you come across Walls sausage in a baguette so I got the Wall’s Breakfast Sausage Baguette for dinner.

Overall, I was glad I tried it because the quality of the sausage was good being Walls and you could taste the sage, parsley, and thyme in the sausage.

The baguette was nice and hot so the sausage baguette was quite satisfying.

To summarize, it was good considering the baguette had been in the heated cabinet all day yet the sausage was not dehydrated or burnt so it shows the protective foil lined bag did a good job.

[Review] Salted black beans by Mee Chun Canning

I love anything with black beans hence my favourite tinned item is the fried dace with black beans and I love to cook anything with black beans like takeaway style black bean chicken, black bean bittermelon etc.

Recently I tried this Taiwanese black fish dried fish thing in oil which was so delicious that I was inspired to make it myself so I need to get some black beans.

Normally, I use yang jiang preserved black beans which most takeaways in UK use but I decided to try something else and bought the salted black beans by Mee Chun Canning.

I made some black bean mixture inspired by the Taiwanese one, the taste was just as good but most importantly the quality of the black beans because they tasted so good, they were full of flavour just like the ones in the canned fried dace with black beans.

[Review] Waitrose Cherry Lattice

A while ago I was looking for the waitrose cherry bakewell yum yums but my nearest store didn't have it.

On this visit they had the impressive #cherrylattice

The initial taste was quite sweet from the icing but the cherries were nice and tart with a slight artificial cherry taste which I have a good tolerance for because I like cherries.

It was topped with intact chunky almond slices roasted to blond perfection.

[Review] Waitrose Butterscotch Pecan Crown

The Waitrose Butterscotch Pecan Crown was moreish because the butterscotch drizzle was not too overwhelming topped with quality pecan nuts.
The crown itself was not too airy or dense.

[Review] Waitrose Apple crumble danish

I doubted the apple crumble danish from Waitrose and partners because it didn't look as good as the other danishes but the apples that were barely visible were the star of the show because they were tangy and alive.
