[Review] Iceland's Majestics Mint

Went to Icelands and got the Majestics Mint which are inspired by magnums.
They were reduced to 50p so I was expecting cheap waxy chocolate.

Boy I was wrong, on first bite I was shocked how good the chocolate was but sadly it was way too sweet that it killed the mint icecream.

In contrary the mint icecream was tasteless.

I even rinsed my mouth and tried the mint icecream on its own and it was bland, there were some faint bursts of mint which tasted like mouthwash!

[Review] Kelly's Cornish Sticky Gingerbread Ice Cream

I love Cornish ice cream because it is so thick, creamy and fragrant.
Walls Cornish cream was one of my favourites but at the supermarket I discovered Kelly's of Cornwall ice cream made with clotted cream.

The tub was really nice, it was gold because it was the limited edition Sticky gingerbread while the regular tubs are silver which is also my favourite colour.

The edges of the tub have this nice wavy finishing that reminds you of an icecream parlour but the only complaint is that it is hard to open as you have to pry it open from the edge that is only on one side.

As well as the pretty tubs, you can visually see how nice the ice cream is and not flat like other brands.
The Sticky Gingerbread Flavour Dairy Ice Cream has Toffee Sauce, Fudge Pieces and Ginger Digestive Biscuit Pieces.

As expected it was thick and creamy with delicious fudge pieces while the ginger digestive biscuit pieces were not too over powering.
However it was a little hard to scoop out unlike their youtube commercial but then it came right out the freezer.

After trying this I am definitely tempted by their other flavours like the Eton mess and Cherry Bakewell.

[Review] Meatless Meatballs at Subway for Veganuary in UK

Subway has also launched something meatless for Veganuary so I decided to try it.
They were offering meatless meatballs in the form of a sub or just as a snack.

Since I have already eaten something beforehand, I just had the meatballs with vegan cheese.

The vegan cheese came in the form of slices and they melted like normal cheese.

I was won over by the cheese because of the texture and taste but the meatballs were a bit disappointing as they were firm and tasteless like Beyond Meatballs.

According to the the reply by Subway_UKI on instagram they use meatless meatballs by Nestle and vegan cheese from Violife.

[Review] Vegan Steak bake at Greggs for Veganuary in UK

As soon as it was the 2nd of January, I was on the look out for Greggs steakbake.
It was sold out in Tunbridge wells so I had to try again the next time I was out.

From the posts I had already seen, it was said to be salty and the filling is similar to meat pie so I was expecting the filling to be similar to Greggs vegan sausage roll but darker in colour.
Finally got the vegan steak bake which was piping hot from the cabinet.

Took a few bites until I got to the filling and I was quite surprised the filling was thick and moist, nothing like the previous posts, so I think they have improved it.
The filling looked like bolognese sauce which was good and it wasn't as salty as I anticipated which was mentioned in earlier posts.

Overall, it was quite nice and more comforting because the filling is delicious and I could taste onions in it which complemented it nicely.

Matcha to the ultimate level

Matcha comes from Japan and you would think the best comes from Asia but after visiting Bird Blend Tea Co you would be surprised and perhaps this is just one of the many tea places out there.
I still haven't been to Canada, US or Auz yet so there could be better findings over there!

Teaculation in Hong Kong is already proving a point with matcha sourced from UK.

Bird Blend Tea Co will really blow your mind with their Matcha variety ranging from: raspberry choco matcha, peaches and cream matcha, spearmint s'cream matcha, ice cream matcha, mermaid matcha, grapefruit matcha etc.
They also sell the Matcha whisk if you don't have one.

As well as matcha, their loose leaf teas will also whisk you away with a good selection of modern British flavours as well as traditional teas.
Teas they have include: peach cobbler, eton mess, chocolate digestive, chili chocolate, cherry bakewell, carrot cake, coconut oolong, apple strudel.

At the shop, you can try the teas.

The breakfast boost really gave me a surprise as the blend was visually interesting.
I thought it was a traditional blend by name but it actually had toasted rice along with cocoa shells, cocoa nibs, coffee beans, ashwagandha, guarana seeds.
This is how creative Bird Blend are because they have put toasted rice in it which is an element of Asia.

[Review] Fortnum's Toffolossus Biscuits

Tried Fortnum and Mason's Toffolossus Biscuits which come in a oversized tin that is bigger than your usual tins.
Inside, there are two packs of biscuits.

I found them very sweet and hard while the toffee bits were not chewy.

The best bit was the salty aftertaste.
Frankly the McVities caramel digestives were better.

[Review] KFC's The Original Recipe Vegan Burger in UK

Last summer, UK's KFC launched the IMPOSTER (vegan chicken burger) which was sold out within four days so it must have been good.
For Veganuary this year, KFC have launched The Original Recipe Vegan Burger which is a meat-free alternative to the classic chicken Fillet Burger, replacing the usual chicken breast fillet with a vegan Quorn™ fillet coated in the Colonel's iconic blend of 11 herbs and spices.

As soon as Veganuary began, I just couldn't wait to try it.

I went to the Hailsham branch where the Vegan burger wasn't on the main menu so I thought they didn't have it but they did.

After I ordered, I discovered the product shot on the window near the exit which isn't helpful as most people would have ordered by the time they look in that direction.
The burger came after waiting for a few minutes, it came in a green box with the words Zero chicken.
When I held the box, it felt so light as if there was nothing in there.

Taking a bite, the patty was rock hard and dry, but it was a no brainer to realize they have fried it for too long.
I would have requested another one but friends were with me so I didn't bother.
Luckily half of the patty was normal so I was able to try the good side of it which was so delicious complemented by the creamy mayonnaise which is also vegan.
I would describe the patty as the closest one that tastes like chicken patty but I wouldn't say say chicken filet because the texture is more like the chicken nuggets from McDs that is made of pink slime and not much of chicken.

To summarize, I will definitely have another one as it was so good because of the delicious iconic coating but at a different branch because this branch seemed like it was the first time they served it.
