Albalooche Jangali Sour Cherry review

As a curious foodie, I am always trying things that I have not tried before.
Ventured into an international supermarket and discovered these Albalooche Jangali Sour Cherries by Torsh Afrooz Pak Company.
They looked interesting and the fact they were sour was even more tempting.
Finally tried these dried sour cherries which I have been holding back because the liquid it was in looked thick and syrupy.
I was surprised they were really nice because they were sour as claimed.
They look like glacier cherries but taste nothing like them with stones inside.
As well as cherries there were damson plums which are the bigger ones.
The texture was like eating dried prunes aka the stuff that helps constipation.

Sainsburys Macaroni Cheese

As a Macaroni cheese lover, I decided to try Sainsburys version to see how it fared.
It looked promising but when it was ready, the smell was rather overwhelming.
The taste of it as a whole was rather heavy.

[Review] Oyakata Pad Thai Chicken review

A while ago I tried the Oyakata Miso ramen which were a bit bland but the Oyakata Japanese classic , Oyakata Wasabi Beef, and Oyakata Curry were amazing.

To summarize, the soupless noodles fron Oyakata taste better than the ones with soup.

Oyakata is basically a Polish brand of cup noodles under Ajinomoto which also has SMAK noodles series.

They recently launched the new Pad Thai chicken and Korean BBQ so when I saw them I didn't hesistate to try them.

The interesting thing is that the strands for the PAD Thai are much thinner than the other flavours and the design of the noodle cup is really colourful compared to the previous black ones.

Overall, I wouldn't say it was an authentic pad thai taste but just like their noodles but will definitely be getting this again. I would probably give 5/5 if there was a twist of lemon in it.

Rating: 4/5

Home made pickled eggs with a twist

I have always been a fan of pickled eggs so since I had been pickling purple cabbage and radishes in the past there was some vinegar solution that was left over when all the pickles were finished.

So I decided to boil some eggs and pickle them in the coloured vinegar which would result in a pretty coloured pickled egg. In addition to vinegar, I added some salt and Sichuan peppercorns which made the pickled egg delicious.

The eggs were ready to eat in a week, the colour was stained right through the egg white.

There was some heat to in it as chili was also used when pickling the cabbage so the egg white was full of flavour from sharp spicy tones to hint of pickled radish.

The pickled eggs can also be taken to the next level by making them into pickled devilled eggs.

Sainsburys Chanteney carrots and honey-roast parsnip soup

I am not fond of carrots but decided to try the Sainsburys Chanteney carrots and honey-roast parsnip soup anyway.

According to Sainsburys website,  it is a velvety soup with a blend of tender Chanteney carrots and caramelised honey-roast parsnips. Simmered with warming ginger and aromatic spices and finished with a splash of thick double cream.

Unfortunately, if you don't like the taste of raw carrots, it tastes exactly like raw blended carrots with a gingery flavour.

Chanteney carrots are short, fat, and broad with a rounded blunt tip which make the look like baby carrots.
