McDonald’s create your taste International variations

I was excited with McDonalds create your taste because some non adventurous countries like Hong Kong get to “Build Your Own Burger” which is great and they have some basic ingredients which are not normally available such as mushrooms.

I was looking forward to the cheese but as expected Chinese people are not a fan of cheese hence the choices do not match up with other countries.

Currently, the build your own burger has been launched in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.

It has been said to be launched in Kuwait but I haven’t been able to google anything yet.

A blooper I discovered while googling "Create your taste hong kong", Maccas spelt as Mcdoanlds!!

Basically the bun choices are the same, but cheese, sauces and bacon vary in different countries.

Singapore has turkey bacon because they do not really eat pork.

The Singaporean, Australian and New Zealand websites were great because you could see clearly the ingredients but the Hong Kong one was not user-friendly and has a small picture to summarize the choices.

Guinness flavoured crisps

Tried these Guinness flavoured crisps by Burts Potato Chips.
They were thick cut with a Guinness aroma and had a slight bitterness that tastes just like beer.
The colour of the crisps are slightly darker too.

Sunbites Onion & rosemary by Walkers

I loved the lilac crisp packet and inside there were aromatic crispy bites but the rosemary was not strong enough and there was a sweet aftertaste.

Chinese herbal cookies! Imperial Bird's Nest (Central)

Imperial Bird's Nest (Central)

I bought these cookies because the flavours were unusual!
There were three boxes per pack with three flavours of 8 individually packed cookies.

cordiceps militaris cookie

Monkey mushroom and black sesame cookie
Black fungus with black sesame cookie

Each flavour is clearly labelled.

Despite the different flavours, all three taste really similar and you can't really taste the cordiceps or monkey mushroom or the black fungus!!
They just tasted like ordinary local butter cookies!

Marks and Spencers Marquisette biscuits

I love these piped Marquisette biscuits which were crumbly and light with a touch of chocolate.

Marks and Spencers Mini Jaffa cakes

I love Jaffa cakes and these are mini ones which are addictive.
Jaffa cakes are British and it is a Genoise sponge base with a layer of orange flavoured jelly coated with chocolate.

They were delicious frozen because I like the jelly to be chewy.

McDonalds black and white coconut pie a la mode

I was excited because McDonalds launched this black and white coconut pie.
To my knowledge, there has not been a black and white coconut pie but this was served in China last August.
As well as the pie, there are the black and white burgers that are the same as last years.
For the shake shake fries seasoning there is the salt n pepper crabwhich was available a few years ago in oct, 2011.
According to my earlier review, it has a fragrant basil taste.

Anyway, I went to McD's to try the coconut pie.
It seems that different branches are offering different things, the one I went to only served the pie and icecream but according to instagram some branches just sell the pie only.

The coconut pie was quite nice with a coconut filling that was not too strong and pieces of coco de nata.

If I had a choice, I prefer it without the icecream so hopefully I can find another McDonalds that just has the pie or wait until the 4th when the pie is fully launched at all branches.
