Waitrose new Black forest crumble and chilled custard

Who ever thought of this is a genius and it was executed well.
These days there are lots of black forests reinvented but some are just trivial by adding chocolate/cherry.
The black forest was quite different because they actually changed the crumble to a chocolate crumble with some chunky chocolate pieces.
The taste was good.
Tried it plain and it was how I expected it to be.
The best thing is that you get whole plump cherries that are still tart while the chocolate crumble is not too sweet.
I didn't heat the crumble to the point that the chocolate melted because I like the chocolate with a chew.
The crumble was not too sweet which lets you add custard to it.
Adding Waitrose custard took it to another level.
I plan to pair it with Tescos black forest thick cream but not got my hands on it yet.
Overall it was a really comforting dessert which is a winner for me more than a decadent rich indulgent dessert.

Fisherman Seaside Favourites brown shrimp

My  English tummy satisfied with these delicious peeled brown shrimp on butter white bread with salt and pepper.
These shrimps are a menace when removing the fiddly shells which make these ready to eat ones a delight.
Saying that, they lack the fresh sea flavours which you can account for with salt and pepper.
Will try them on toast next and buy some potted shrimp for the next review.

Aldi cherry bakewell jaffa cakes

Finally got my hands on these Aldi cherry bakewell jaffa cakes.
They were really nice but it took some time getting used to it because they were in the form of jaffa cakes.
You get that lovely cherry which is a jelly on a semi soft cake and then the almond taste hits you.
The topping was a bit like white chocolate but overall it was yummy.
So glad to see this product on the shelves.

Soreen scream cherry jellies

I felt that these Soreen scream cherry jellies are just like your usual malt loaf with some chewy sticky cherry jelly bits.

ASDA Mini Garlic Bao Balls aka bao buns

ASDA Mini Garlic Bao Balls aka bao buns
When I saw these ASDA mini garlic bao balls I had to try them.
I am not a fan of Sweet bao buns but had to give these a try because of the unusual East Meets the West fusion.
Out of all the baos at the supermarket, this has to be the most wacky creation with garlic and parsley like garlic bread whereas the other ones are Asian inspired like with hoisin flavours and katsu.
Again, just like other baos and dim sums, these are produced in Vietnam.
Now, to the moment of truth, these were so addictive that I had four in one go!
You get a lovely garlicky filling in the middle and I love the way the bao has parsley which makes it look nice.
Overall, not too sweet with each one bursting with filling.
I definitely wouldn't mind getting these again but they must be good as they were the last box in the freezer.

Cakes galore at a Bagel shop called The Happening Bagel Bakery

Spotted The Happening Bakery Bagel across the road which was just my thing.
I was expecting lots of bagel offerings but was delighted to see they had a cake cabinet and lots of other treats like donuts so how could I leave empty handed.
It has a menu with white background and blue red words setting is like a typical Jewish Bakery shop.
I found this shop very similar to The Bagel Shop at Stamford hill.
They had bagels, patties, challah and traditional English cakes.
As expected, it was to my liking with a strong bakewell taste while the cake texture was just right.
