M&S iced all butter speculoos cake reviewed

A pretty cake with three layers of different colours so I tried each layer separately.
The bottom layer tasted like cinnamon.
The second layer was intensely sweet while the top layer was a bit bitter while the icing is gritty with a marzipan texture.
Having the cake as it is was quite nice with the spice kick.
Overall its just a sweet cake with heat but the spices lacked aromatic flavour.

M&S Collection Dark Caramel flavoured clotted cream

I just love clotted cream so didn't hesitate trying the new dark caramel clotted cream.
The dark caramel clotted cream totally blew me away and the taste was so unique!
Trying a spoonful on its own, it was like burnt caramel sugar that you get on top of creme brulee in clotted cream form with an alcoholic kick to it even though it is alcohol free.
It went really well with my toffee apple sponge pudding.

M&S Mince Pie flavoured extra thick cream

I just love cream so didn't hesitate trying the new mince pie thick cream.
The mince pie thick cream looked lush because it is cream blended with sultanas, apple, candied mixed peel and spices.
The look and consistency was just like clotted cream with that dry layer on top but it does contain clotted cream.
Tasting the mince pie cream on its own, I was a bit disappointed as one cannot taste the apple mixed peel, there was something very odd about the taste.
It was like banoffee with spices.

M&S vintage cheddar truffle pastry

Quite nice, you get that lovely bechamel sauce filling in the middle which is flavourful and salty then there is vintage cheddar on top which is crispy.
The truffle is present so all good.

M&S Cornish Cove and Piccalilli sandwich

This is a modern cheese and pickle sandwich with piccalilli!
Unfortunately, I forgot to get a picture with it open but it is similar to cheese and Branston pickle without the sweetness.
The pickles were have more of a dry crunch with a good degree of sharpness.

Lithuanian Varškės Sūris cheese

I love Lithuanian food which is similar to Russian and Eastern European cuisine.
After trying Varškės Sūris cheese at a restaurant, I totally fell in love with it.
The taste and texture of the cheese was amazing, the texture is similar to firm tofu with a bit of resistance which makes it versatile with any herbs/sauces.
At the Lithuanian supermarket, you can buy it plain or with herbs so I got the plain to experiment.
I know you are meant to baked it but I warmed it in the microwave and it was just the same and added Lemon and Herb peri sauce which made it really tasty.
Will be buying this again.

Lidl Deluxe scallop shells

When I saw these scallop shells I had to try them.
There were two to choose from: Scallop & King Prawn Champagne Gratins or Red Shrimp and Lobster Bisque Shells with Crumb topping.
I got the Red Shrimp and Lobster shell to try.
The thought of red shrimp and lobster is an ingenious pairing if they used the proper red shrimp which tastes like lobster so you can still get this lobster taste with minimal lobster.
Anyway, for that price, it looked the part and tasted like lobster bisque with chopped up pieces of red shrimp but it lacked that seafood umami and sweetness even though it was quite salty.
There was a slight fishy taste and smell but it was not in the nice direction but barely noticeable to most.
