Gecchele Italian pastries and bakes - Spring cake Review

Gecchele is an Italian brand that is everywhere!
You will find cakes, pastries etc under this brand but somehow I just don't get captivated but they had two cakes that got my attention because of the packaging and the way they were similar to traybakes but in a cake form.
There was a vanilla cake with sprinkles and there was a chocolate cake with smarties so I got the vanilla cake.
The boxes for these cakes were very nice and immensely different to their range, it was colourful and targeted at the younger generation.
Unfortunately, I didn't like it because the texture was too soft and crumbly and the vanilla taste was more like lemon.
The cake colour was dark and looked nothing like the picture which was pale.
The chocolate would probably fared better but I chose the vanilla because I was hoping it to taste like the English ones.
Imported by Adriatic UK, bought from the corner shop for 3.19.

Iceland £1 Mealtime favourites - fish Pie and toad in a hole reviewed

I was at Iceland again to see if there were any new finds and spotted these £1 Mealtime favourites.
The choices were impressive from ready meals to pies and burgers.
What's not to love.
In the end, I got the toad in the hole and fish pie for lunch.

The toad in the hole was amazing especially the sausages which were not bad as it didn't have bones or chewy bits.
Adding bisto gravy took it to another level.
It was even more delicious because I mixed the regular bisto gravy with bisto chicken gravy and it was so good.

The fish pie was bland as expected but that was okay because it's good for people on a low sodium diet and also I got to try this artisan salt from Isle of Skye which has seaweed in it hence a match made in heaven.
These bland fish pies could be rebranded as low sodium meals for people on a low sodium diet.
There isn't much fish in it but it was only a pound.

Went back again and got the battered fillets , crispy potato slices and beef pancakes.
The battered fillets were not bad but were bland so all you have to do is just add salt but at least they had a fishy taste.
I felt that they battered fillets were made of chunky fish offcuts reformed into a fillet shape.
The Crispy potato slices taste like McCoys Crisps before they ditched the flats so they were quite nice.
The crispy pancakes taste like Birds Eye pancakes but again a bit Bland and not much minced beef as expected.

Went to another branch and there was a bigger variety of the pound range snacks so I got my hands on the lamb and mint pies and cheese & mushroom crispy pancakes.
The cheese & mushroom crispy pancakes were seriously good tasted like the childhood minus the stringy chewing gum mozzarella.

The lamb and mint pie was tasty but a little disappointing because the carrots were raw and crunchy, other than that it was ok.

£1 finds:

Dalstons real Pressed Pineapple & sparkling water

I love Dalstons drinks because they taste natrual.
This time I got the pineapple which I knew I was going to like.
It was very nice and sugar free but still sweet because of the grape juice.
Having it room temperature it was sweeter and whilst not a sweet chilled.
