The Water Tower and cherry blossoms

The Water Tower can only be appreciated from a distance because it is fenced off.

On my last visit to park hill park, I literally missed it but glad I revisited and saw the tower from a distance.

M&S Marks Spencer Plant Kitchen Sliced Mature style

Marks and Spencers have done it again with so many new items for Veganuary such as Chickenless tikka masala, melt in the middle no fish cakes, no chicken Southern fried tenders, no beef meatballs, no beef steak bakes, Shanghai no beef noodle bowl, Sweet n Sour no chicken, New York style no salt beef roll.

As for the cheese alternatives, you will find Sliced Mature style, Mature style block, grated Mature, grated Mozzarella as well as and Greek style.

The sliced Mature style was quite good and cheesy, it melted like cheese when heated with a decent strong cheesy taste.

As well as the packs, the New York style no beef also contains a slice of the mature style.

Coop Apple Crumble Cupcakes review

Spotted these in December but only tried them recently.

According to the label it reads: Coop apple crumble cupcakes with apple filling, toffee flavour sponge and apple flavour frosting.

Interestingly it mentions edible decorations but from the naked eye, the decoration is just crumble.

Anyway the apple filling was a bit disappointing as there wasn't enough to taste it.

The toffee sponge was rather sweet which overpowered the toffee and the apple flavour frosting was quite artificial.

M&S Marks Spencers Gefilte Fish Balls

If you have been to Hong Kong, you might have seen these fishballs which are popular Chinese snacks.
They are usually plain or in curry sauce where you can add optional chili sauce to them.
Anyway, in the Jewish cuisine, they also have fish balls called Gefilte Fish Balls.
The M&S ones are a traditional combination of cod, haddock and matzo meal which are ready to eat hot or cold.

Different countries will use a different fish mix due to sustainability.
I was really impressed with the Gefilte Fish Balls because you could really smell the fish and it tastes of fish, the only thing I didn't like was the sweetness.
These fishballs are made with a substantial amount of fish hence the texture is similar to fishcake.
Comparing these to the Hong Kong ones, Gefilte fish balls taste much better because of the fish content while the Hong Kong ones are just bouncy and chewy as there is more proportion of flour to fish.
As well as Jewish fish balls, the Norwegian fish balls are delicious and again because it contains more fish.
Overall, I definitely recommmend these if you like fish cakes.

Mr Kiplings sponge pudding and other finds

Mr Kiplings sponge pudding finds at a small convenience store but strangely I have not seen these at the supermarket.

Cherry bakewell sponge puddings, sticky toffee sponge puddings and raspberry sponge puddings.
