[Review] Sainsbury's Sweet Potato

Although I am not really keen on Sweet Potatoes I ended up getting a bag from Sainsburys.
Sweet potatoes are just weird because they are sweet.
I always eat them first of last if they are on my plate.
However having sweet potatoes with salted caramel icecream or clotted cream is such a good pairing inspired by the Japanese sweet potato dessert with icecream.
As well as having it as a dessert, I had them roasted and they tasted great on their own just like the ones you get from street vendors in Hong Kong!

[Review] Sainsbury's be good to yourself Houmous

I always eat houmous on a regular basis so when I saw the Sainsbury's be good to yourself Houmous I decided to get it.
As it is claimed to be lower in calories I was expecting the taste to be bland but it was just as good as the regular houmous.
The only complaint was the plastic tub itself because it was flimsy and weak compared to other brands.

[Review] Quorn Roasted Sliced Fillets

Quorn is a really successful meat substitute that has been around since 1985, well before other brands.
This time I tried the Quorn Roasted Sliced Fillets which basically look and taste like chicken fillets.
They definitely tasted good with mayonnaise or peri peri sauce in a wrap.

Also spotted the Quorn escalope!

[Review] Morrisons The Best Cheese Bloomer

A Bloomers bread is a crusty loaf with rounded ends typically with several parallel diagonal slashes across the top.

At Morrisons, they had the Cheese Bloomer made with Red Leicester, Mature Cheddar and Regato so I decided to give it a try.

The Cheese Bloomer slices tasted great on its own as well as toasted with butter and ham.

[Review] Morrisons Danish Toffee Pecan Whirl

I love Danish pastry whirls and Morrisons had the Toffee Pecan whirl which was a little different compared to other supermarkets.
It is was drizzled with toffee and sprinkled with pecan nuts.
As for the swirl itself, it was a bit hard and dry as expected but if you microwave it for a few seconds it totally comes alive and tastes so much better because the toffee is much more gooey and the swirl is softer.

Overall a delicious treat because the sticky toffee and pecan nuts complimented it nicely which makes a change from having maple and pecan.

[Review] Morrisons The Best Cheese & Onion Pasty

Every supermarket has their premium range of premium products.
This time I tried Morrisons The Best Cheese & Onion Pasty which comes in a black paper bag.
Unfortunately I prefer their regular pasties because the pastry was really hard and the filling was a bit too overwhelming.
The potato slices were nice and chunky but not soft enough for my liking.

[Review] Coop Irresistible Limited Edition Hand Cooked Katsu Curry Crinkle Cut crisps

Everything is Katsu these days and Coop has these Irresistible Limited Edition Hand Cooked Katsu Curry Crinkle Cut crisps so as a crisps reviewer I decided to give them ago.
According to the packet, they are seasoned with coriander and coconut.
The texture of these crisps are quite crunchy and hard, as for the taste it was actually quite nice because there was a strong taste of curry.
The coconut was mild Thankfully but overall it was good.

As well as Katsu crisps, they also have Korean Fried chicken crisps.
