[Review] Coop Irresistible Sticky Toffee Apple Crumble

A while ago I spotted the Coop irresistible Sticky Toffee Apple Crumble which was on my eat list.
Finally got the Coop Irresistible Sticky Toffee Apple Crumble as there were no desserts in the fridge.
I was not sure what to make of it because the smell and taste of the apples reminded me of hubba bubba apple bubblegum.
It was really artificial yet somehow delicious because stewed apples just don't taste like that.
The crumble was thick but there were lots of oats which is the trend these days.
As for the sticky toffee, it was not as sweet as anticipated and it seemed like there was toffee in the crumble because when it was baked, the crumble did not go crisp but there seemed to be something in it that melted.
Overall, it was nice but the apple was strange!

[Review] Jerk Pork by The Old Fashioned Chef, Croydon Surrey Street Market

If you eat a lot of Caribbean food, it is often Jerk Chicken but not pork.
As well as Jerk pork, you can now find Jerk with an English twist like Jerk sausage which I tried in Walthamstow.

Anyway, The Old Fashioned Chef is a stall that serves Jerk every Saturday and Sunday at Surrey Street Market.
You can not miss them because you can smell the BBQ a mile away from the smoke plume which is coming off from oil drums and the sounds of meat being chopped by chef Ken Winston.

There are always long queues for the food so you just have to be patient.

Some people will travel all the way for the Jerk pork and so did I.
When you see Ken chop the meats, it is similar to how they chop and serve the roast meats in Hong Kong.

After a long wait, I finally got my jerk pork with rice and peas.

The taste was amazing and just how I expected it to be.
It was basically pork belly marinated in Jerk, it was delicious with a good degree of heat from the chillies while the pork belly was meaty with a crisp surface.
Some customers like the pork belly fat while I like it balanced.
Anyway, the Jerk Pork here is a must try and definitely a million times better than Hong Kong roast meats.

The Vegetarian Butcher unbelievabull Burger review and finds at Coop

There are so many vegetarian brands out there but The Vegetarian Butcher brand is memorable especially the feministic logo.
All their products have quirky names which makes them stand out.
The Vegetarian Butcher debuted for a month in Hong Kong where their products were available at seven restaurants - Nosh, FAM, Appendix, Blend & Grind, Urban Coffee Roaster, Barista Caffe, and The Butchers Club.
In the UK, The Vegetarian Butcher made a bigger debut with their burgers at Burger King, see review below!

All of their products were captivating so I ended up getting the Unbelievabulls burgers.
As soon as I ripped the film off, there was a lovely smell of herbs, the patty was thin so it cooks quickly.
The burger patty was well seasoned that it didn't really need much condiments, in fact I would say it was heavily seasoned because it was quite salty.
I simply paired it with some pickled savoy sandwiched between two round thin toast slices and it was quite tasty.
Anyway, it was an interesting experience because The Vegetarian Butcher burger tasted different this time compared to when I tried it at Burger King.
This is the reason to cook them at home because you can control factors like cooking time and seasoning.

The South London Vegan Market has suddenly appeared and it is every Sunday from 10-4pm.

It is strange because there was no noise and this is the second week already.
There are lots of familiar faces from Spitalfields.

At the stalls, there is something for everyone starting with decadent cakes from Sweet Tooth London

Colourful burgers at @itshandsomemom

Delicious crepes from @queenofthecrepes

My favourite stall had to be the JahBean with the TearJerker Bagel!

[Review] Rice Rolls in the UK by H.K Food Products

I have always loved rice rolls from the Chinese supermarkets but somehow whenever I tried similar rice rolls in Hong Kong they were not quite the same.
The rice rolls in Hong Kong are much softer and sweet by default without any sauces.
Adding sauces makes it worse because the soy sauce and red sauce in Hong Kong is much sweeter.
They also add this annoying oily sesame paste and sesame seeds as well as plain oil for some weird reason.

I just can't rant enough how delicious the Rice Rolls are in UK, not just by H.K Food Products but a majority should be good.
The reason they taste so good is that the texture of these rice rolls are firm yet al-dente with a good elastic chew to it.
They taste good plain or simply with some soy sauce and chili sauce that is not sweet by default.
