The Turkey Kitchen Thai Style Cakes

These are not Thai fishcakes but Thai style turkey cakes by The Turkey Kitchen!
To be honest they look more like meatballs.
As for the taste, they were much nicer than fish cakes because there is no lemongrass in them and turkey is better than fish in the sense there isn't grounded fish bones.
Overall, it just felt like eating a turkey meatball with Sweet chili sauce.
It is nice how they put the sachet of sauce on the sleeve which is meant to be a chilli dip but the person who heated them up put the sauce into the Turkey cakes.

[Review] Batchelors Super Rice Beef flavour & Chicken Flavour

I have always been a fan of Batchelors products especially the bacon super noodles.
As well as noodles, they also have the super rice series which I got before lockdown.
It took me such a long time to get motivated to to try the rice because it takes more time and effort compared to the noodles.
When it was ready, there was a nice beefy paprika smell.
The Batchelors super rice beef flavour tasted like rice mixed with bovril so it was quite nice.
Each grain of rice was distinct and uniformly flavoured.
Will probably buy it again.

Also tried the chicken was a bit weak and not as tasty as the beef but it wasn't bad.

[Review] exclusive to Iceland - Barratt Flumps

Quoted from the Icefresh Foods website:

"Icefresh Foods transforms five of the most-loved Barratt sweets into ice creams, exclusively available at Iceland!
Working in partnership with leading retro confectionery brand Barratt, we are aiming to make the nation’s summer a little bit sweeter this year, by launching a range of five new ice creams based on the Barratt’s classic range of sweets, all exclusively available at Iceland stores.

The range will include fun frozen twists on the Fruit Salad, Black Jack, Flumps and Wham sweets, plus a cool new take on the popular Dip Dab sweet-lollies.

I know this is a late post but better late than never.

The taste of this Barratt Flumps was just like flumps with a brain freeze.
If you have tried Barratt flumps you will know that familiar marshmallow taste without the gelatin.
Definitely my favourite icecream from the Barratt's icecream sweet range.

Brompton House Large and Moist macaroons, Apple Puffs and Muffins

I have always wanted to write about macaroons because people confuse them with macarons.
If you search #macaroon you will find macarons wrongly hashtagged as macaroons!!

Macaroons are coconut based and mainly made up of desiccated coconut whereas macarons are made of egg whites and almond.

The Brompton House macaroons were big and moist and loaded with coconut but they were quite sweet.
Anyway, I will also trying putting them in the oven to see if it makes the macaroon more aromatic.

Somehow these Macaroons didn't taste as soon as how I remembered them.
The ones I had in the past were less sweet and they had some rice paper on the base.

As well as Macaroons, Brompton House also do a wide range of treats like muffins, apple puffs and brownies.
At the recent IFE show, Brompton House were there so I sampled the apple puff and the new individual packaged muffins.
The apple puff was surprisingly good and would taste even better if I had it with some cream or custard.
The pastry was more like hard layers of flaky pastry than puff but it was still good.
Visually it looked like sausage roll filled with apple filling.

Will be updating the taste of the muffin soon.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers British Raspberries

It is hard to get ripe and sweet raspberries but these raspberries from M&S were so good.
Each and every one was ripe and sweet.

[Review] Kingsmill golden pancakes & double chocolate pancakes

I was definitely impressed with these Kingsmill pancakes.
They were fluffy and soft as stated.
As well as the texture, the taste was good as they were not too sweet.

Also tried the chocolate pancakes which were another nice option if you like chocolate, again gthey were soft and fluffy.
If you microwave them for 20 seconds, you get melted chocolate which some might like but anyhow warming them up is the best as the pancake becomes more soft and fluffy.

[Review] Lidl's Deluxe Cornish Clotted Cream

Again, I am not really a Lidl shopper but went there specifically for the Portuguese tarts and ended up getting the Lidl Deluxe Cornish Clotted Cream.

It was only 99p and you get a generous 200g tub enough for a tea party but in my point of view I prefer quality than quantity.

Anyway, tried it and I suppose it was good but the texture was really different to other clotted creams because it was really gooey.

So far used the clotted cream on pancakes with apple sauce and a warm donut.

I am still looking for some nice scones to experiment with it.
